THE NEW LEO AT BOGARDUS
The new (and improved, IMO) Leo — Leo Woodall — was shooting last week in Bogardus Plaza and Tory Weil caught this photo. The movie is called “Tuner,” and its a crime thriller from “Navalny” Oscar winner Daniel Roher that also stars Dustin Hoffman, according to Deadline: “Written by Roher and Robert Ramsey, the film tells the story of a talented piano tuner whose life is turned upside down when he discovers that his meticulous skills for tuning pianos can equally be applied to cracking safes.”
TRAIN AT WASHINGTON MARKET PARK IS NO MORE
The wooden train at Washington Market Park, which has been in the northern most playground since the park was renovated back in 2003? 2002? has been removed. It was no longer stable and the fixes were somehow taken apart by kids.
FREE FAMILY PROGRAMING AT PAC NYC
The Perelman Performing Arts Center, aka PAC NYC, will host a free concert on the lobby stage from master kora player Yacouba Sissoko on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2p. Sissoko devotes his musical gift to expand the awareness of West African history and culture and spread the word of peace. The kora is a West African stringed instrument often described as a cross between a harp and a lute, featuring a gourd body covered with hide and a long neck with 21 strings that are plucked with the fingers.
NEW MURAL ON WHITE STREET
Love this new mural on 381 Broadway at the northwest corner with White, where the slice shop was for years. The building was sold last year, and to try to combat the constant graffiti on the White Street side, the Brown Harris Stevens agent Bo Poulsen commissioned street artist Ian Sullivan to cover the entire stretch. More TK on the background.
