Downtown Soccer League is collecting sports gear including clean uniforms and soccer balls this weekend, Dec. 14 and 15, from 10a to 5p at the ballfields.
They will also accept other clean and gently-worn T-shirts, shorts, socks, sports bras, pants, cleats and sneakers. Non-DSL items, child and adult sizes are welcome. The donations do not need to be soccer-specific.
DSL partners with US-Africa Children’s Fellowship to send soccer equipment to Africa. Hundreds of their soccer balls and thousands of our uniforms have been distributed in Ghana, Zimbabwe and other countries. Many children there want to play soccer after school but don’t have shoes, only have one set of clothes that they must keep clean for school, and make balls from tape.
