Nosy Neighbor: When will Meadow Lane open?

The market in question is Meadow Lane, which has been renovating the space on the corner of Harrison and Greenwich since last May 2024. Here’s the latest from the Meadow Lane folks:

“Construction handover/completion is set to be mid-April. Gas turn-on by the city can range but likely mid-May. We are not releasing a specific date publicly until we are certain and until we are no longer subject to unforeseen delays. When we have a firm opening date, we will release it publicly in an exclusive and on social media.”

Not sure I will get the exclusive announcement, so follow them on social if you want to know before me!

In the meantime, their plans are to create a prepared foods market that will also stock snacks, staple items, frozen foods, etc — all in shelves and cabinets custom built in Italy (!). The floral studio will have arrangements, custom orders and weekly floral house accounts.

This is the third time in nine years that the space has been completely gutted. Working backwards, Chanson closed in July 2023; they had taken the Maison Kayser space in June 2020 and opened a year later, after gutting what was a very nice space. Maison Kayser closed in September 2019; they opened in 2015. The Harrison closed in late 2014.

  1. What about Honeybrains?

  2. If you follow Meadow Lane’s owner on TikTok, you’ll get great updates on timing, menu tastings, construction updates, etc. His name on TikTok is “Brokeback Contessa” (no comment)

lol yeah the thing you want when your new business is opening is to only announce it to a few audiences. no need to get the word out widely!

i wonder what will open here once this is gone? fingers crossed for a good pizza place – we could really use one on the street.
