More soon, but an exciting addition to the Tribeca Design District: George Rings, the bespoke jeweler out of Portland, Oregon, has moved its operations to the neighborhood, to an upper floor at 177 Franklin (that’s it in 2012! Had to include because it looks like decades ago), above Shinola. I will have more to show and tell once the founder and designer, Chelsea Lauren, and I meet after Thanksgiving. (Thanks to E. for the heads-up.)

The studio was founded in 2021 and moved here this summer. It’s by appointment only (Tuesday to Friday, 11a to 3p) through the calendar here.

All of their pieces — rings, pendants, earrings — are cast by hand from recycled and custom-alloyed 18K yellow gold. No two pieces are ever exactly alike.
