Battery Park City resident Kanupriya Kesari has opened a third location of her bakery, Butterly Bakeshop — this time in her own neighborhood. (Thanks to H. for the shot.)
Kanupriya opened the first Butterly in Park Slope in 2019 and expanded a few years later to the Upper East Side. “Now getting to bring the bakeshop into my own neighborhood feels like coming home,” she said.
Butterly specializes in celebration cakes, cookies, cupcakes and individual desserts, with vegan and gluten-free options as well. They opened on September 26.
There’s no end to the custom cake concepts — see them on IG here — but they also have a selection of cakes ready for pickup now (blackout, funfetti, chocolate with salted caramel buttercream), and then a broader selection ready later (strawberry milkshake, Nutella latte, carrot). There are cookies, bars, cake pops, cupcakes and “custom-ish” cakes.
You can bet I will repost when I have a chance to go sample! Till then:
