Seen & Heard: Square Diner is the Saucy Spoon

THE SQUARE DINER IS THE SAUCY SPOON
The Square Diner was the Saucy Spoon — for a day. (Thanks to S., B. and A. for the shots — and in one case, the brief panic.) It was a one-day pop-up by Ocean Spray juices — owner Teddy Karounos said it would be back to looking normal by nightfall. S. said folks were lined up by 9a to get in on the action.

MORE 9/11 RECORDS RELEASED
The New York City Law Department today released 40,000 additional city records related to the terror attacks of September 11, making them available to the public for the first time in 25 years. The first public portal for 9/11 records was set up last month, settling a multiyear legal battle over air quality and health concerns following the attacks. Mayor Mamdani’s FY27 budget includes $34 million to create and maintain the public records portal, which now features more than 200,000 pages of including the long-discussed Harding Memo and the materials known as the “68 Boxes.”

DENNIS DUGAN AT M-ARCH PROJECTS
Dennis Dugan, who would go on to direct “Happy Gilmore,” “Big Daddy” and “Grown Ups,” has a show of his photography from the 1970s, when he was a young actor living in the city. “Dennis Dugan: Locks & Bagels” is at M-ARCH Projects upstairs at 89 Franklin until November 25. There are lots of fun juxtapositions, including the one above and the title work, which lines up padlocks and bagels in a repeating row, a joke only a New Yorker could make. As Dugan puts it, “I try to capture people’s attention, involve them, surprise them, and, hopefully, make them laugh.” M-ARCH Projects is a non-profit that presents artists who are military veterans or have close family ties to military service. Dugan’s father was an Army staff sergeant in World War II.
