••• Alexis Stewart finally sold her Ice House penthouse. (Curbed) And then there was this update: “The buyers, hedge-funder James Flynn and his wife Kerianne, actually live in the penthouse next door at 27 N. Moore Street, aka the Ice House. They plan to combine both units into a megapenthouse. The Flynns paid $4.45 million for their original 3,642-square-foot digs in 2003.” (Curbed on a report in the Post)
••• Shocker: “A galling 95 percent of the parking permits surveyed in Manhattan’s Civic Center neighborhood were either being used improperly or were outright fakes, according to a study released Wednesday by the non-profit group Transportation Alternatives.” Why does Transportation Alternatives care? In any event, the report, titled “Totally Bogus,” is downloadable from this page. Also, the area defined as Civic Center includes a lot of Tribeca (by anyone’s definition). (DNAinfo)
••• Agita at the main CB1 meeting over the appalling incident in sculptor Tom Otterness’s past. (Broadsheet Daily)
••• A New York Times report on Chanel’s Tribeca Film Festival party at the Odeon. By the way, I was surprised to see the entire sidewalk outside the restaurant get co-opted for the party. I complained to my partner about it, and he called me an old fart. What can I say? Attending CB1 meetings will do that to you.
••• The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation booted CB1 chair Julie Menin off its panel deciding how to parcel out $17 million in grants. Silver lining: More time to campaign! (DNAinfo)
••• The New York Post says that Sacha Baron Cohen and Usher were looking (separately) at renting in 169 Hudson.
••• Photos from Vanity Fair‘s Tribeca Film Festival party at the State Supreme Courthouse. Everyone was there, including—as you can see in the photos below—Martha Stewart, Truman Capote, Charlie Rose, and Tilda Swinton.
