••• From Notify NYC: “The World Trade Center Mass Emergency Notification System will be tested today between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. Alarms may be audible in the area. There will be no evacuations.”
••• The Shake Shack BPC now scheduled to open in June.
••• CB1 chair Julie Menin just sent this email out: “You may heard that the NYPD is planning to take over the horse stables in Tribeca and turn it into a temporary WTC Command Center. Our concern is that we not lose the stables or the important mounted unit in our community. Community Board 1 is OPPOSING the removal of the stables as we believe another location should be found for the WTC Command Center, one that does not displace the stables. We also do not think it makes sense to create a temporary command center there, and then later have to create a permanent one. Many of you have contacted me about what you can do. We are meeting with the NYPD on Thursday, and I ask that all concerned citizens who have an opinion on this issue, email the CB 1 office by Wednesday evening at man01@cb.nyc.gov or at our Facebook Page, and I will present the emails to the NYPD.” Go on, send that email! I’ve made it easy!
••• I went to see Bridesmaids yesterday—not my cup of tea at all—and there was a trailer for Friends with Benefits, which I only remembered was partially shot here when Pécan’s sign popped up behind Justin Timberlake. The preview gives too much away, but you can see other local stuff, including Woody Harrelson (playing gay?) at the North Cove Marina. It doesn’t look horrible, but then I think I love Mila Kunis (and Patricia Clarkson is awesome, too). It’s possible the trailer is NSFW, but I’m not watching it again or I’ll never get “Closing Time” out of my head.
