News Roundup: We’re All Ears

fitzs-pig-n-whistle-by-tribeca-citizenRUMORS AND CONJECTURE I was walking up Greenwich today and I noticed a group of people waiting to get inside what used to be Fitz’s Pig-N-Whistle. Then, at Wichcraft, they sat next to me. Seems like someone has some plans to do something with the space…. I’m not being coy—they didn’t really hear much. ••• And then I was walking down Chambers between Church and Broadway when a doorman on the south side of the street pointed to one of the gaps in the north side and said, “So there’s going to be a walkway there?” I’m guessing he meant through to Reade, but that was the first I’ve heard of any such thing. Unlikely. And yet there’s a narrow sort of gap there. A most tantalizing idea….

AROUND THE WEB “Desma Polydorou and Merav Gershtenman bought the two-bedroom, one-bath condo Unit #9F at 311 Greenwich St. in Tribeca from Mark H. Kiernan and Mary K. Gehlhar for $860,000 on Nov. 24. The 885-square-foot Unit #9F is in the Reade House, a condominium built in 1988 which houses 79 units in 10 floors. Polydorou is an associate at Allen & Overy” (Blockshopper).

IN THE NEWS Residents of north Tribeca made their opposition to “option #3” known at last night’s CB1 meeting (Tribeca Trib).
