••• On Friday, Tribeca Cinemas will host Help.Heal.Haiti, benefiting Partners in Health. I’m just going to quote the release because I can’t bear to go through it and lowercase everything: “3-Hours of open bar, Live DJs, Haitian Bites catered by Krik Krak Restaurant, Silent Auction. Silent Auction Items: 2 All-Access Passes to the Tribeca Film Festival, 2 Tickets to the Late Show with David Letterman, handbags by Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs provided by ShopBop, 3-Day Blue Print Cleanse, Men’s and Women’s baskets from Calvin Klein Underwear, ESPN gift basket with a signed Bill Simmons book, An I-Pod Nano, Private Yoga Classes, and many, many more.” Advance tickets are $80, $95 at the door.
••• There’s going to be a benefit tribute to the Who at Carnegie Hall on Mar. 2, but more interesting—and relevant to this site—City Winery will be hosting the event’s rehearsal the night before. With Robyn Hitchcock, Vanessa Carlton, Sondre Lerche, Betty LaVette, Mose Allison, and more. Tickets, $25, are here.
••• Next Wednesday, Feb. 3, it’s opera time once again at Duane Park restaurant. There’s a $33 prix fixe. Thinking of going….

IN THE NEWS
••• The NYPD has rejected Governors Island as a setting for the terror trial, but CB1 is pushing hard for it to be held pretty much anywhere besides lower Manhattan. (Tribeca Trib)
••• The New York Times digs into the outcry over St. Vincent’s Hospital.
••• “Harvey Keitel is being sued over planned renovations to his Tribeca pad,” says the New York Daily News. “According to court papers filed Tuesday, Keitel and his wife, Daphna Kastner, are accused of failing to pay $43,850. Manhattan architect Robert Kahn says the couple refused to foot the bill after he prepared designs, hired consultants and made cost estimates for work to their Hudson St. home.”
