Today’s Groupon for New York City is $7 for $15 worth of Grandaisy baked goods. Here’s how Groupon works: First, you sign up to receive the daily emails (and I believe there’s an option to see today’s Groupon), which may or may not have an appealing offer. When you see one you like, you click “Buy!”—and in this case, you have to make sure you choose the offer specific to Grandaisy’s Tribeca location. Then you enter your credit card info, and wait. Groupon is based on the power of collective buying, so in this case, 125 people have to choose to buy the deal in the next 15 hours for it to go through. (At this moment, 53 more people have to sign up for the Tribeca one.) The Grandaisy discount is good for one year, must be used in one purchase, and is limited to three per person; once it goes through, you receive confirmation and a voucher to print out. Now that I think about it—and the raisin-walnut bread, and the pizzas, and those little chocolate cookies—I’m going to go back and buy two more….
P.S. If you’re visiting Groupon for the first time, use this link and I’ll get $10 in Groupon credit for the referral. Why not? It’s all the same to you! http://www.groupon.com/r/uu951011
