Today’s special on Blackboard Eats is 30% off dinner at Marc Forgione (maximum party size of four, not valid on Sunday Supper or Suckling Pig HappyHour). If you haven’t been Marc Forgione, initially known as Forge, is a very good restaurant on Reade Street—the vibe can get a bit Meatpacking District, but the food is extremely accomplished without sacrificing deliciousness. Prices are on the high side, making this deal even more appealing. How Blackboard Eats works: You sign up to receive the free weekly email, which offers a deal (many are 30% off, and the restaurants have been good—the Harrison, Braeburn, Tía Pol, Fort Defiance, and so on) that expires in a month. Click the button saying you want it, and you’re shown (and emailed) a code that you tell the host when you arrive. I’ve amassed a bunch of codes by now, and two weeks ago I finally used one, at Braeburn. The experience could not have been easier, and the host gave me no attitude about being a coupon clipper—and we ended up saving a big chunk of change. And Braeburn was excellent, by the way.
