••• “It was more than a year ago that SHO Shaun Hergatt on Broad Street closed. Now Mr. Hergatt, the Australian chef who secured a pair of Michelin stars for his namesake restaurant, has a new place in the Hotel Chandler in Midtown, in partnership with ESquared Hospitality. […] Mr. Hergatt says he will emphasize produce from farms in the region, most of which he has visited. ‘This will be a much more personal restaurant than SHO,’ he said.” I’d think it’d have to be…. —New York Times

••• Regarding the new plans for the old American Stock Exchange Building at 86 Trinity Place: “The [Landmarks Preservation] Commission was not theoretically opposed to any of the proposed changes, but there was some disagreement over whether the [proposed] windows on the Greenwich Street side would be too large. (Since that side had historically been the back of the building, the windows that are there now are very small.) They delayed voting and asked [architect Morris] Adjmi to reconsider that part of the design.” —Curbed

  1. I thought the large windows on Greenwich looked great…..In scale with the windows above and much needed for this part of the street
