••• “Now that Battery Park City has a library, Battery Park City resident Percy Corcoran, who proposed a library in 1998 and helped keep the project alive for more than a decade, has moved on to a new crusade: getting a Greenmarket in Battery Park City. This shouldn’t take nearly as long. In fact, the Battery Park City Greenmarket may open this month, or within two months at the latest.” It’d be on Thursdays. (Broadsheet Daily)

••• Landmarc and Locanda Verde make New York Times critic Sam Sifton’s list of his 50 favorite restaurants—in other words, where to eat if you have an outrageous expense account. Meanwhile, no Tribeca bars made Pete Wells’s list of bars. (To the best of my knowledge, anyway. Bars are awfully secretive these days.)

••• Meanwhile, in Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld’s list of 101 best sandwiches, on New York magazine’s website, Farinella‘s Cuma (the eggplant one I raved about here) comes in at #74, Wichcraft‘s anchovy sandwich is #64, Locanda Verde‘s lamb meatball sliders are #45, and Terroir Tribeca‘s meatball sandwich is #9. The list is pretty amazing, by the way. Is this the golden age of sandwiches? P.S. Grandaisy bread figures in a lot of them.
