••• “We went in front of this SeaWorld float and we sat down,” [12-year-old Tribecan] Rose McCoy tells LAist. “Then a bunch of cops grabbed us and kind of threw us off to the side. It was slightly rough.” There was also this: “She wasn’t handcuffed like the rest of the adults until she got to the police station, where they handcuffed her there to make sure she didn’t leave the station. She was separated from the adult activists during their questioning. They all have a court date on Feb. 3. Her mother, Emily McCoy was also arrested, in part for aiding in the delinquency of a minor.” Kids these days! I became delinquent all by myself.

Rose’s story made me smile. Thank you for updating us.
Seriously? What conscionable parent is going to foist their kid into this? And if the child is truly passionate about the cause, then perhaps a little constructive guidance is in order instead of planting them in front of yourself trolling for better press and sympathy. It’s shallow, and it reeks.
Seriously, why are we continuing to read about this girl and her exploitive mother? Anything for attention and college admission these days…
I hate to say it, but I have to agree with Will and Fed Up on this one. Something ain’t right here…
