••• The Wall Street Journal looks into 5 Beekman, which some other a blogger got a fascinating peek at this week.
••• “From the corner of Fulton and Broadway, progress on the massive Fulton Street Transit Center is largely invisible. But behind the blue plywood construction fence, the $1.4 billion train station is rapidly taking shape.” DNAinfo has a slideshow with renderings and construction pix.
••• Comedian Sara Benincasa does Grub Street‘s food diary this week. She likes the Banoffee pie at Bubby’s, and she also ate at Café 92YTribeca, whcih makes sense because she’ll be hosting the Spice World singalong at 92YTribeca on Saturday.
••• Andaz Wall Street will host a Saturday farmer’s market from July 10 through November 20, says HotelChatter: “And the produce you can browse, sample, and buy? It’s all from the suppliers who stock the hotel’s Wall & Water restaurant with farm-fresh goodness. These include Quattro’s Poultry & Game Farm, which keeps Wall & Water in duck and pheasant eggs; Beth’s Farm Kitchen, which turns out pickled veggies and loads of jams and chutneys; and the Hudson Valley’s Migliorelli Farm—they raise hogs and make apple cider.”
