Is the Hawaii Cupcake Factory still happening? The website is gone and there’s been no sign of work. Or is something else opening in the old Dean’s space? We’ll find out….
9) 79 Chambers Street, application for liquor license for Borids Lidukhover, on behalf of entity to be formed – Resolution That’s the building with the Hummus & Pita Co. and the sneaker store. I believe there’s also a narrow storefront that’s vacant—and, if I remember correctly, a big unused subbasement in that building. Boris Lidukhover is the owner of Sushi Dojo in the East Village (which got two stars from the New York Times); the question is whether he’s planning a jewelbox restaurant o the ground floor (and/?) or a bar below. The agenda says “liquor license” and not “restaurant liquor license,” which may or may not mean anything.
