••• Opening Sept. 22 at SUMO Gallery: Mick Rock’s photos of rock stars from the 1970s onward. (The SUMO website has a slideshow of some of the works—the Iggy Pop one is possibly even better than the one below of Lou Reed.)
••• Tribeca’s Kitchen is opening on Monday—serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner (at the northwest corner of Church and Duane).
••• Asphalt Green Battery Park City is open to everyone this weekend (including today).
••• PARK(ing) Day is today—that’s when people and businesses take over a parking space for the day. Real estate consultancy HR&A Advisors is planning quite a bit for its space, on Harrison between Hudson and Greenwich.
••• I spotted a group of rather slick-looking businessfolk standing at Cortlandt Alley and Walker, discussing what is (was?) to be the entrance to the restaurant in the hotel coming to 396 Broadway. Can’t pinpoint exactly why, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the plans as we last heard them have changed.
••• You know I can’t resist a trompe l’oeil construction photo….
