••• Coming up at R & Company: “The Haas Brothers’ first American solo exhibition, ‘Cool World,’ 4 November 2014 through 10 January 2015. The concept of freedom, in particular the ideal of California freedom, provides the nexus for the new body of work they’ve developed for the show. The artists will be present at the opening reception on Tuesday, 4 November, 6-8pm.” (Photo courtesy Joe Kramm/R & Company)
••• With Fairway trying to get out of opening at 255 Greenwich, a movement is afoot to persuade Trader Joe’s to come to the neighborhood. Here’s a location request form.
••• White Street restaurant kicks off brunch this Saturday. The menu is below (there’s a kids’ brunch menu, too). I had some technological issues so try to find the little yellow note charming. UPDATE: Brunch has been delayed till Oct. 25.
••• Friends of Bogardus Garden’s 4th-annual Harvest Festival is October 25 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: “The festivities will include a fun-filled morning with live upbeat tunes throughout, while downtown’s younger set participate in various arts & crafts activities led by Tribeca businesses. Families can also enjoy performances by local businesses, plus face painting, glitter tattoos and so much more! Friends of Bogardus Garden will also be selling its signature TriBeCa, Sprout and Bud t-shirts and leading a cookie decorating activity.” Also, the group could use volunteers for the event.
