Tiny Streets: Part 1
Maybe it’s because only locals tend to know about them, or because I think it’d be neat to live on a street even New Yorkers haven’t heard of, or because they’re vestiges of old New York, but I love tiny streets—the ones that are a block long, maybe two. When I suggested to Asha Agnish that she photograph the tiny streets in and around Tribeca, she was into it. And then I told her I thought she should shoot all of them, from each end (because the T-bone is often the interesting part). A trouper, she accepted the assignment, and if possible, her photographs have made me like these streets even more. Here’s part 1: Collister Street, Benson Street, St. John’s Lane, and Trimble Place. (Even the names are cute.)

Fantastic photos! The photographic equivalent of stopping to smell the roses.
Left out Staple Street that runs between Duane and Harrison. Probably the most photographed “tiny” street in Tribeca.
Great piece Erik. Love the photos … makes me so much more enamoured of my neighborhood.
