••• Friends of Bogardus Garden has embarked on a mission to raise $25,000 in 30 days. Why not give a little? Or better yet, a lot? The plans for the combined garden/plaza look great, but they’re not going to come to fruition on their own. (I think you can ignore the “select a team member” menu on the donate page).
••• From Notify NYC: “There will be a fireworks display at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, 12/18/14 over the Hudson River near Battery Park City.”
••• Jonathan Burden tweeted this photo of Duane Street buildings made from leaves, sticks and foam board. Not sure if it’s in the store or somewhere else. UPDATE: Julie comments that they’re at the “incredible annual Botanical Gardens Holiday train exhibit in the Bronx.”
••• Press release from the Downtown Alliance: “Lower Manhattan will further boost its appeal with the unveiling of its new Selfie Kiosk, a unique and unprecedented attraction. The kiosk will enable visitors to create a new ‘Kodak moment’ for the 21st century and share their selfies across email, Twitter and Facebook.” It’s at Albany Plaza.
••• The 1st Precinct is doing this just to provoke me, right?

NY’s Finest Parkers
Lawless & Disorder
Do the Scooter Police remove their license plates too when they park on the sidewalk?
The twig buildings are part of the incredible annual Botanical Gardens Holiday train exhibit in the Bronx. I recommend going but also recommend the FREE charming local train exhibit in the houseboat in North Cove Marina next to Brookfield. A lot closer and very old school.
I don’t understand why 1st precinct’s parking situation bothers people so much. They have a lot more cars than the available parking spaces. What’s the big deal??
That the people charged with upholding the law flout it so freely drives me nuts. (By the way, I feel the same way about the FDNY double-parking all along Duane Street.) If it were all official vehicles, that would be one thing. But NYPD staff are parking their private vehicles all over—and if the NYPD thinks that’s a legit employee perk, then it should find precinct houses that have enough parking to support it.
