• What, Nolita didn’t test well? A company called American Vintage Beverage is releasing a “ready-to pour cocktail” called Tribeca Light. Made with malt liquor and aimed at women, the drinks are available in mojito, pomegranate, and margarita flavors and have “half the calories of bar-made cocktails.” AVB has yet to respond to an inquiry about (a) why Tribeca and (b) where the drinks can be purchased, but the labels clearly reference all the amazing Art Deco architecture in the neighborhood. Whatever you do, don’t drink one while driving your Subaru Tribeca.

• Listing for the seventh-annual Open House New York, to be held Oct. 10–11, will be posted at ohny.org tonight at 10 p.m. (and in tomorrow’s Metro newspaper). At least one local building, Seven World Trade, will be open that day. On Friday, Oct. 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be an opening party at the Visionaire in BPC. Advance tickets are $25. What’s more, according to an email from the organization, “OHNY will raffle a behind-the-scenes-tour of the Woolworth Buildlling, led by resident historian Roy Suskin and the author of The Skyscraper and the City: The Woolworth Building and the Making of Modern New York, Gail Fenske.  Highlights of the tour include Frank Woolworth’s original office, an indoor swimming pool, and an observation deck, and will conclude with viewing the sunset from the terrace of the building. Tickets go on sale during OHNY Weekend. Ten winners be announced October 13 and the tour will take place on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets cost $20 each and proceeds will go directly to support and sustain OHNY programming.”

• “After a year, De Niro’s Hotel Penthouse Still Illegal” says the Tribeca Trib‘s headline on a piece about how the Landmarks Preservation Commission is still miffed. “LPC staffers are finally scheduled to meet with project representative on Oct. 8, according to Elisabeth De Bourbon, a spokeswoman for the commission. De Bourbon said she did not know whether a new design for the penthouse would be presented at the meeting, or whether the developers themselves would be a part of the proceedings. Landmarks staff members last met with the project’s last December. ‘They came to us with a revised scheme, our staff members gave them some suggestions and they said they would go back and work on it,’ DeBourbon said. ‘We haven’t had any conversations or meetings with them since then. We don’t really know what the cause for the delay has been.'”
