••• Pen Parentis‘s April salon will feature authors Kelly Link, Marly Youmans, and Lev Grossman. I genuinely enjoyed Grossman’s Magicians trilogy, and (but?) I never read fantasy. “The event takes place on Tuesday, April 14 at the Hotel Andaz at 75 Wall Street. The night kicks off at 7 p.m., and admission is free. RSVP is highly recommended through the Pen Parentis website, but not required—the Pen Parentis Literary Salon is open to adults over the age of 21.”

••• “Look at what they’ve done to the Dunkin Donuts on Chambers!” emailed Anna, along with the pic below. “Can you imagine if they do this citywide?” I said I couldn’t tell if it was an improvement or not—I mean, the old store was no delight. “Depends whether you like a fluorescent fast food vibe or Ye Olde Donut Shoppe,” was the reply. (Definitely neither. Oh! By the way, I just learned that Laughing Man carries doughnuts, and I hear they’re good.)
