••• I know you’re tired of my excitement over the Spring Street Salt Shed, but I don’t care. Just look at it! I’d love to have a party inside once it’s done (but before the salt is trucked in…).

••• One of the Soho Photo shows opening Sept. 9 is work by Raphael Senzamici: “Small world photography uses a Photoshop technique, technically known as stereographic projection, that can make a single panoramic photograph look like a small world. For this body of work, I took ordinary views of NYC and made them look extraordinary. For example, a typical view of the New York Public Library flourishes into a tree of knowledge or, in another photograph, the MET evolves into the shape of a horseshoe crab. The final images are black and white and printed on archival metallic paper, signed and limited to a series of 25 prints.”

••• An update on yesterday’s In the News Post, which included a Real Deal item about “Jersey Shore” cast member Mike Sorrentino buying on Jay Street: It appears to have been too, er, good to be true. “Know the owners of Jay St apartment,” commented Sara. “It’s a guy with the same name (we were told by them yesterday) not actually the Situation.”

••• The “for rent” sign at the Subway “restaurant” on Chambers has been taken down. So maybe it’s not leaving?

••• I was delighted to learn that the Fountain Pen Hospital on Warren stocks Rhodia paper products. No more hauling up to the Village for them.
