We saw them as well, flying at about 20th floor height at speed. They were 100% not NYPD, definitely military. We saw a package of 4 (2 Blackhawk variants and what appeared to be 2 smaller MH-6s) but there may have been 6 in total. All were fully blacked out with only a small red running light. There is video on twitter where you can see military personnel sitting on the side of the MH-6s. I live on the 20th floor of a building in BPC and have seen at least 5 helicopters at or below our floor level between BPC and Citigroup. Not sure which are more annoying: helicopters buzzing the FiDi or idling tour buses scattered all throughout downtown. The city can have them if they actually policed them properly or taxed them for the use of city resources / nuisance. But instead, politicians would rather fill their pockets with kickbacks. where are the officers? haven't seen any around in years. at night time Tribeca ( especially Greenwich Street) very quiet. only people giving out tickets around. First Precent hasn't done their job around our area in years. chambers Street is a nigh mare also. A couple of year ago in broad daylight Duane Reade on Greenwich was stuck up. Two men walked in with a gun and no cops came for a long time after. The bandits drove away in a car also. Trader Joe's started hiring around April 7, but there's none of the trademark Trader Joe's decor yet (or products on the shelves, that we can see). I don't know, the Parks Department seems to be doing a great job with the numerous dog runs in Battery Park as well as those along the Hudson River Greenway. They are clean and respected by the Tribeca and Battery Park Public who use the spaces. The fact that they've been able to maintain these dog runs leads any reasonable person to believe that they will do the same with their dog run on Warren Street. Honestly, this sounds a whole lot like some folks who have been able to charge dog owners, make their own rules and decide how to limit membership for a Private Dog run on Parks Department property, who want to keep their little private fiefdom private. The basketball court within the fence is for kids 12 & under, if you have young children you would understand that it’s dangerous to have high schoolers playing very rough!and cursing on a mini court intended for younger kids, young as toddler aged children are in this area. The basketball courts just north of the turf are for the older kids. So yes, they also have a place to play basketball. 1st precinct seems to be struggling. More and more break-ins and thefts. My wife was in a cab the other night that was rear ended and 2 hours after the 311 call, still no police response. It takes more than people or Allied to call the police. the most important part is that victims need to be willing to press charges. Otherwise, the police have nothing they can do. I also asked and the daughter knew the group of kids and this was a father trying to parent their own kid and it escalated. While I might not always agree with Chick-fil-A's political stances, I do commend them for taking a position based on the principals the company was built on. Obviously they are a massive chain, but in my own opinion, they feel more like a family run business. If it was about the dough they would be open on Sunday's and never take a stance on any issue.
