Just to let you know, Duane Reade/Walgreens are all closing their doors (at least for the most part). Their reason? Rents have skyrocketed our of control and it just isn't reasonably affordable to operate. I spoke today with a friend who works at Duane Reade on my corner in Kew Gardens, NY. She told me my store would be closed on December 14th 2017. We are all witnessing the fall of a company that have faithfully provided service to millions of customers nationwide. CVS is an idiot company with horrible management and I don't trust them. The Brooklyn Bridge, third line, right now is exclusive only for drivers who are going on the Brooklyn Bridge only, but that is the bottleneck that slows down the traffic. The developer can probably block off the sidewalks for as long as it renews the permits and no one complains. Don't assume someone else will complain, either; you have to do it yourself. So true - I walked down a different than usual street the other day and happened upon a huge pod dump. Unbelievably foul - I'm so glad I've got a boy tree. And that same tree also dropped its green leaves overnight. We were robbed this year! Usually the golden glow of the changed leaves gives us a week or two of pleasure.
