The contents of the restaurant at 221 W Broadway were being auctioned off, which is not uncommon when a restaurant goes bust. It's not clear that anything is happening in the way of a new restaurant tenant, who would probably want to keep much of the kitchen equipment. Forgery is not necessary. Two years ago I showed up to vote as I have done so for decades. Someone had signed my name and voted. The signature looked nothing like mine even though they had my real signature right there to compare. I pulled out my IDs and they refused to look at them. I made a scene. Long story short I was allowed to vote that day but then spent months straightening things out at the Board of Elections. Yeah, let's talk alright. — PeterD on In the News: Another Report Says Retail Rents Are Dropping

It's pretty sad that they tried to cut corners with such a prominent and expensive building. The "value engineering" is definitely in play as I also recall reading how they designed it so that the curved walls are all the same size, which makes it much cheaper to build. — lowphat on Solving the Mystery of 111 Murray
