Factor #1 is proximity to Tribeca, which explains Smorgasburg, Canal Street Market, Cut, Augustine, Fowler & Wells. Why do you cherry pick restaurants and places opening in fidi and soho on the future openings list? I mean you had CUT, Augustine, Canal Street Market, and Fowler and Wells on the future openings list and right now you have Smorgasburg in Soho and Trader Joe's in Soho on the list. Everytime I see the BIG design I get so frustrated and annoyed. It's so ugly, uninspired, and downright offensive to the site and the memory and plan thereof. The Foster design, on the other hand, exudes an air of confidence and pois that fits the skyline very well(see Babylon A.D., or Eden of the East). It's nice to see the development of 3 WTC and they should just stick with marketing that to potential clients for now rather than rush the 2 WTC as there is lack of tennants, and no one would want to work in that ugly stack of jenga blocks. Regarding police officers parking their private cars on the sidewalks/double parking near the Holland Tunnel; I was told after complaining to the Fire Department about a fireman's truck nearly hitting my young son on the sidewalk on Duane near Broadway, when he jumped the curb to 'park' his truck. Apparently the city allows this for police and firemen near their respective stations.
