We have 2 kids and have been living in battery park city for 15 years. Before we really enjoyed to see the parks to be cleaned with soap daily and patrol everywhere. The last 3 years, the cleanliness, demographics, and safety deteriorated tremendously. Everything is covered with dogs' poop, people are not abiding by the rules, and nobody listens to park rangers. We saw 1,000 times when park patrol told dog owners to stop popping in the park, or other concerns, people do not listen to these ambassadors and behave in the worst manner because there is no control over them and because nobody can give them fines. Why all streets are stinking with dogs' poop while there are numerous dog runs in the area? Barbarians — Gourari on In the News: Battery Park City Authority Ditched the Parks Enforcement Patrol

well, there's this from the broadsheet, "Until recently, Allied Barton was owned by the Blackstone Group, a multinational private equity and investment banking giant, where Mr. Mulrow served as a senior managing director before joining the Cuomo administration in January, 2015, as the newly reelected governor began his second term. The selection process that led to the BPCA's hiring of AlliedBarton began a few months after Mr. Mulrow joined the Cuomo administration. In this process, the BPCA reviewed bids from more than 20 security firms. The Authority ultimately rejected multiple bids that were priced at less than half the cost of the $2.1 million contract that the BPCA eventually signed with AlliedBarton." http://www.ebroadsheet.com/Entries/2016/1/28_Authority_Chair_Says_Cuomo_Administration_May_Be_Getting_Closer_to_Naming_New_BPCA_Board_Members%2C_But_Needs_Hints.html — j on In the News: Battery Park City Authority Ditched the Parks Enforcement Patrol
Just more the same from BPCA. I'm surprised that the connection between Cuomo and AlliedBarton's campaign contributions has not yet been revealed. — TribecaMom on In the News: Battery Park City Authority Ditched the Parks Enforcement Patrol

The New York Times may have mistakenly snagged a legitimate locksmith in its article. "Fake Online Locksmiths May Be Out to Pick Your Pocket, Too" http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/31/business/fake-online-locksmiths-may-be-out-to-pick-your-pocket-too.html "Today, a well-oiled system keeps young Israelis flowing to the United States for locksmith jobs. Companies beckon on Israeli employment websites such as Maka (Hebrew for “score”). Among those currently hiring are Green Locksmith, Locksmith Garage, CT Locksmith and Mr. Locks. The latter, which claims its main office is in TriBeCa, promises that employees will earn as much as $4,000 a month and says it is looking for people “who are not afraid of new things.” Like many of these companies, Mr. Locks covers itself by stating — in Hebrew and on a site that caters to Israelis — that it is looking for United States citizens." — James on Seen & Heard: A Real Commitment to Halloween
Maybe he meant that the part that goes over West Street is not open. But that's actually a different bridge that goes to the same building as the one that is open. The part of Brookfield that the bridge goes into at the north end is where Saks will be, and Saks isn't open yet, but there's a plywood passage that goes through that area so you can get to the rest of Brookfield, — Hudson River on Seen & Heard: Part of the Liberty Street Bridge Is Open

Could we have a poll of where everyone orders Chinese delivery/take-out in the 'hood? I still haven't found my go-to spot and I've been living in TriBeCa for 10 years, as nothing comes close to the take-out joint I frequented in Forest Hills where I grew up. — HH on You Know How You Wanted Another Chinese Restaurant Around Here?
