You haven't been to the lousy restaurants in BPC. Southwest has quesadillas for $16 + and they are REPULSIVE. Rosa Mexicano is a steal. — Liz on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
Long live Tent and Trails! — David G. Imber on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
The prices are ludicrous. — High on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
None of the menus on their website have prices, so you have to actually go in to find out what the dishes cost. Think that's simply an omission? I would bet NOT- just a trick to get you in! — Bruce on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
The road that led to Rosa Mexicana closely follows Tribeca's own journey. From gritty but real (Biddy Early's) to a high priced chain. You all can decide whether that's good or not...I'm just pointing it out. — BobR on New Kid on the Block: Rosa Mexicano
Tent & Trails folks told me they own their building (good for them!) and they are directly next door to 19 Park Place. — Bruce on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
If it weren't for Cuomo's arrogance and stupidity in regards to BPC, I might actually like him. Instead, I loathe him. Everything his office does in regards to BPC stinks of everything that is despicable about politicians. Frankly, if BPC residents paid 70% of their taxes and banked the rest to "buy politicians" they would have true representative government. Eventually, they could lower their land lease rates, save on taxes, spend less extravagantly on the neighborhood, and still buy politicians at a fraction of what they pay now. — cami on In the News: Wagner Park Under Review
No-one attends the Calgary Stampede without dressing appropriately! We didn't want to arrive unprepared, so I can't tell you how pleased my husband and I were to be able to purchase boots, western shirts and a Stetson hats right here in Tribeca. It's been said so many times, but stores like this are a treasure and an important part of what makes this city diverse and interesting. Is it surprising to find a Western wear store here - yes! But the fact that they have survived this long proves that there must be a market, and not just for Hallowe'en. — Andrea on Another Store Is Getting the Boot
It is the BPCA looking to hand over more public parks to for-profit corporations = friends/donors of Cuomo. The problem is that BPCA is a state run organization and driven by Cuomo, so no clear oversight at all. — Liz on In the News: Wagner Park Under Review
Maybe something is happening in that storefront on Barclay, now, but it's been almost a year gone, and they open it from time to time & it looks like the might do something, but don't. The storefronts to the east of Barclay tower, as well as storefronts that wrap around onto Bway on the same building, have been disappearing one by one. — j frank on Seen & Heard: More on Duane Reade’s Plans
I've had only great experiences from their location on 23rd Street..having them in the neighborhood is such terrific news! — julieW on New Kid on the Block: CityMD
I remember when that was the "Everything Store" (never knew its real name.) It was like an old fashioned general store, with everything from pots and pans to hardware and tools, birthday decorations...they literally had EVERYTHING. So sad when they moved a block downtown, then closed less than a year later. — Elisa on Another Store Is Getting the Boot

Yes, all of those horrible buzzwords: "empowering" "next generation" "entrepreneurs" "lifestyle brand" "social retail" — Jane Slavin on Seen & Heard: Two Pop-Up Shops
here we go again. The Battery Park City Authority is looking to spend a shit load of money to fix a problem that does not exist. — cami on In the News: Wagner Park Under Review

On its website, DoB keeps "administratively closing," i.e., ignoring, 311 complaints about this zoning issue of the illegal use of the retail space by Harley @ 376 Broadway. It is justifying doing so by confusing this 1st floor CO issue with a previous 311 complaint about the separate issue of the seizure of the privately owned public space by Harley (which is still "active" for "research" since 10/14 despite the fact that all the evidence needed appears on the CO available on DoB's own website!) Is DoB intentionally thwarting the process for Harley's benefit? — James on Seen & Heard: Counterfeit Vendors Camped Out on Lispenard

POOP! I've bought that poop. And I've had to fend off many requests to bring home that $75 T-Rex. But luckily, they have smaller versions too! Love the Balloon Saloon. — Christy on Spotlight: Balloon Saloon
