oh no! We were really looking forward to it. — Liat on Fairway Market Is Looking to Pull Out
This is very disappointing. Whole Foods needs some competition in the produce/meat departments. Personally, I would rather have a Trader Joe's in the neighborhood. — cami on Fairway Market Is Looking to Pull Out
Hope Authentic Pre-Owned is able to carry on. Great store! — SW on Seen & Heard: Peeking Inside Andrew Carmellini’s Next Tribeca Restaurant
It's a garage door on Reade street! I walked past it this evening. — Reademan on Where in Tribeca…?
It's not about what buildings or what people are going or fighting to save the old & obsolete, but making sure what comes next is more useful & timely while keeping the same beauty and class of what came before...(example - The Greenwich Hotel). What power does CB1 or Tribeca Trust have with that? How much time is wasted in that inefficient process? — Jim Smithers on Tribeca’s Decade of Major Transition
It's not just buildings that are going, people who care about Tribeca buildings are in short supply as well. Maybe you'd be interested in joining CB 1 and fight to retain what's left. Go to their website CB1.org and learn about applying. They need more neighbors like you! Tribeca Trust also needs volunteers. — Jean B. Grillo on Tribeca’s Decade of Major Transition
I moved into a loft on Chambers and Hudson in Feb. 1976. We used to walk our dogs (unleashed) on the beach by the river (which is now Battery Park City), and make art on the beach, and do ad hoc performances. Even before there were parking lots (antecedent to these gargantuan new buildings), there was acreage empty but for weeds and wildflowers. So in addition to the spices that came from the old spice factories, one smelled chamomile throughout Tribeca. — Jane on Tribeca’s Decade of Major Transition
We're a mom and mom eatery as opposed to mom & pop but Michelle and I have both lived in Tribeca for over 10 years, have raised our kids here - hers go to 234 and are invested in the Tribeca community so not all locally owned businesses are gone! gen from Mulberry & Vine — Genevieve on Tribeca’s Decade of Major Transition

Ditto on everything you said about the Fairway in Tribeca! Love the place, especially compared to what is downtown. — JD on Seen & Heard: Fairway Market Update
This is a great new addition to the neighborhood - especially for families. I went with the kids tonight and the beef in the burgers was great quality, the guac homemade and delish and the pico de gallo seriously the best I've had downtown. Housemade potato chips and fries - prices are totally reasonable. It's not a date night for sure but for lunch or kids dinner - excellent. Wonder how their delivery is.... — Genevieve on Marathi
Who does Ed Zimmerman thinks he is coming into Tribeca for dinner without thinking he's going to have to work for it? Some people. — Jim Smithers on Welcome to TweeBeCa

Ann missed the gem of the meeting (and a potential blockbuster expose that could make her reputation): one of the issues regarding the renovation of Bogardus is the ability of the residents of 1 Hudson to be able to load/unload vehicles nearby. When the stretch was originally "plaza"-d, the DOT put up "No Placard Parking" signs along Reade Street between W. Broadway and Hudson so that DOB wouldn't use it as their permanent parking lot as they use so much of the rest of this part of Tribeca. The signs have been removed and the 1 Hudson residents asked the Committee to require the City to put them back. When the Committee members asked the DOT rep why they were removed and to replace them, the answer was the problem has to be studied because as part of the program to declutter traffic signs the DOT has discontinued the "No Placard Parking" designation city-wide. — NV on CB1 Tribeca Committee: The Unofficial Minutes (October 2014)

A real estate friend told me that the published purchase price equates to $1000/sqft for the site which means that anything built there must sell for at least $3000/sqft in order to make any sort of profit (and that would be a small profit to say the least)...#tribecapeaking!! — Mark on Exactly Which Buildings Are for Sale on W.
