  • It was nice that Star Pizza on Murray and Church closed and I was hoping we could get an upgrade. Unfortunately a sign went up that Famiglia Pizza is coming in. I guess I'd rather take Star Pizza back. — Resident on Seen & Heard: Sushi Dojo’s Tribeca Outpost Is Not a Done Deal

  • Burro Borracho was a wonderful place, we will really miss the excellent burritos and guacamole mostly it's so sad to see a family owed restaurant close. It was a neighborhood gem that had great authentic Mexican food. — Rufus on Adiós, Burro Borracho

  • Yes, Andrea, we did all take our trash home with us. It was such a well coordinated event, everyone looked beautiful & the mood was festive. We all respected the area, it is our beautiful City, after all! — Anouska B. on Scenes from Last Night’s Dîner en Blanc

  • At least it's not another restaurant. Although I do believe this nail salon will have a 2am closing, so I hope they have their "Please be courteous to our neighbors and keep your voices down, keep cigarette butts in a small neat pile away from entrances and exits, and please no yelling, yodeling, hacking or urinating when leaving" - sign ready. — Jim Smithers on Another New Nail Salon

  • I think Wolfgang's has the best steak in Tribeca. Unfortunately the service is very inconsistent and sometimes barely there. American Cut is probably the second best. The service here is great and the menu more diverse than standard steakhouse fare. — Brett on Seen & Heard: Nine Stories on Church

  • They're saying late September. Certainly, they could still get held up (the building needed a lot of work), but I believe the liquor license is a done deal. — Erik Torkells on First Look: Inside the Pier A Restaurants

  • When is this actually going to open? They originally said July so its definitely not on schedule. It seems that they've been close to being done for months now with no additional progress seeming to have been made all summer. I'm beginning to think they're running into problems. I know the local community has been up in arms over the prospect of a bar in the area (to hear some people talk, it is as if they expect BPC to turn into the Meatpacking District overnight - as if!). I wouldn't be surprised if they're having liquor license issues. It just seems like they got everything right up to being almost ready to open and then everything just stopped. — BPC Resident on First Look: Inside the Pier A Restaurants

  • As an Italian, I would say this is not great news at all. — Carlo on Two Former Italian Soccer Stars Are Opening a Hotel Here

  • My wife and I went to Dojo in the East Village tonight and chef David Bouhadana didn't confirm they will be opening in TriBeCa.. he said they have been working on it but didn't seem very positive... hopefully he will end up opening though, that place is great and we need more top sushi here (other than Gari and Brushstroke)! — Carlo on Sushi Dojo Is Indeed Opening on Chambers

  • I was there last evening. It was a great night. And yes Andrea, we all took our trash home with us. It's a lovely event, and shows that New Yorkers can be respectful, gracious and enjoy themselves-unlike MustTradeMedtech. What a nasty comment. — Kelly k on Scenes from Last Night’s Dîner en Blanc

  • Looks like it was a wonderful event and as a resident of BPC, glad we could host it! — Liz on Scenes from Last Night’s Dîner en Blanc

  • I was there and quite surprised that our secret destination was in the backyard! We picnic on this very lawn quite often, but our sartorial choices are usually far less regimented. It was an excellent event. Lots of photo ops. — Jolene on Scenes from Last Night’s Dîner en Blanc

  • I turn 55 in November and in NO WAY do I consider myself "AGED"! :-) That said, my husband and I are, but far, the oldest people on our floor. My building (a Condo) is primarily people in their 30's and 40's with about 10% above 55 , but the vast majority of those are under 65. So while I guess this jives with the data above, if you make the definition of "AGED" 65 and above, it would be a far different story. — Luis Vazquez (FiDi Fan Page) on In the News: Lower Manhattan Is Growing Older
