I think the sanitation garage is spectacular; considering its a Sanitation garage. :-) — Luis on Seen & Heard: 30 Park Place Is Launching Sales
So those 29 students have never recovered from not being the center of attention at all times? How will they make it out there in "Perfect World"? I hope the other parents rally around TribecaMom and these poor 29 students. I agree, the only child who should be exposed to substantial detrimental learning environments is the one with the "problem." Not in my cobblestoned backyard!!! — Jim Smithers on In the News: Preschool Discrimination Lawsuit
We had a child in our class for 6 years who I believe required many more services than the public school was able to provide. The amount of time taken away from the other 29 students in the class to deal with this child on a daily basis was substantial and I believe proved detrimental to the child himself and the class as a whole. — TribecaMom on In the News: Preschool Discrimination Lawsuit

I have no doubt that the other parents from the school will rally around Jennifer & Eliot and pressure the school to readmit their son pronto. The school may be able to do whatever they want, but they should "Do the Right Thing." Where have I heard that before? — Jim Smithers on In the News: Preschool Discrimination Lawsuit
This is a private school, so they can do anything they want I believe. — cami on In the News: Preschool Discrimination Lawsuit
I don't know if that is completely accurate. I believe that if the school receives any money from state or fed government (could be in the form of tax relief) then they cannot just do whatever they want. But agree that a specialized school is probably the best way to go. — Brett on In the News: Preschool Discrimination Lawsuit
Because preschools are private, they can really do anything they want. Preschool education isn't mandated in the US. Which means that kids don't legally have to attend preschool. However there are some great specialized schools in this city, some of them free. I'd suggest looking into a school that has the staff to handle your special needs child. They'll probably end up better off because of it. — Anon on In the News: Preschool Discrimination Lawsuit
Since this sculpture arrived last week, it has not stopped being a center of activity and attraction. The moment I saw it I knew it was going to be a WINNER. It deals with so many ideas about art, life, environment, and pranks in such an original and simple way. Tribeca Teddy (do you think anyone made the "el Teddy's" connection when they picked it's placement?) is going to be a major attraction. It is almost always being used an a background for photos. Every passing child is photographed by doting parents in front of or on Tribeca Teddy and a surprising number of adult passers by stop for an extended look and photo. Personally, I think Teddy is far and away more interesting, personal, and friendly then any of Koons' balloon creatures — Don Thomas on Seen & Heard: The Trash-Bag Teddy Bear Has Arrived
Unfortunately, the PENISula will only be big and long on hot days, on cold days it will be a lot smaller. The DOT stated it will only be raised when it gets excited. — Jim Smithers on Seen & Heard: Sixth Avenue’s New Peninsula

About a month ago, the word was it was shooting for July 1: https://tribecacitizen.wpengine.com/2014/04/03/seen-heard-learn-to-be-the-complete-tribecan/ — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: Sweet Green’s Opening Date
Went for Cinco de Mayo with my wife and 21 month old daughter. No reservation. They were very accommodating. Kale salad was great, as were the grilled fish tacos and grilled corn on the cob. The guac was very very bland. Even though we requested it to be very spicy when we ordered it. This was met with confused looks, and a side oder of diced jalepenos (also strangely very bland). Almost tasted like it was pre made in bulk, so the recipe couldn't be altered. Lots of talk of hot house made hot sauces, though they didn't make any that day - strange for cinco de mayo. Decor was great and fun. All in all great (if they can fix the guac), Will definitely go back. My wife already has. Best Mexican in the area! — Julian on First Impressions: El Vez
yea but on your web page you say that there is no drive up or drop off available, so how are private/public owners with boats supposed to get them there to launch?? — hal on Sneak Peek: The New Downtown Boathouse at Pier 26
Any word on when Baked TriBeCa will be opening? Haven't heard about it in a while. — Jen on Seen & Heard: Sweet Green’s Opening Date
Just to clarify with respect to "There’s no docking your own kayak—that’s happening up at Pier 84." There will be no private storage in the Pier 26 boathouse, but the dock will operate as a public launch, as well as for our programs. Private boat owners of paddle craft can launch or take out from Pier 26. Private storage is available at Pier 40 from New York Kayak Company (http://www.nykayak.com) and at Pier 84 from Manhattan Kayak Company (http://manhattankayak.com/). — Martin Sweeney on Sneak Peek: The New Downtown Boathouse at Pier 26
