The Greek has Galis....who is the guarantee for a good food! Wonderful and modern space...Congratulations! — Helen Danos on New Kid on the Block: The Greek
Maybe it will be Intermix, which is now owned by the Gap — ER on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop

All J&R stores and offices have been squeezed into 1 and 15 Park Row to trim operating expenses, I guess. Block appears ghostly. Store is empty. Key contacts were no longer available at J&R. — tom lowen on Seen & Heard: J&R’s Consolidation
Heather - just wait! Look at Bleecker St. It became the West Village's Madison Ave. The whole WV is now a little Upper East Side. So sad. — Em on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
and yet parents continue to buy apartments in Tribeca and BPC - areas known to already have overcrowded schools. Guess some parents really don't care. — Buzz on In the News: Kindergarten Waitlists Cleared
The reputation of the public schools in Tribeca and BPC has a big impact on property values. The wait-list issues are well known and have been going on for a number of years with no end in sight. One of the reasons families buy in Tribeca (at a premium) and BPC (pay $$$ in PILOT) is the ability to attend the public schools. If they don't have a guaranteed spot in a good public school, then they are just not going to buy. It is just too big of a risk. Also, a friend of mine (with kids) did mention that there are very few private school options down here as an alternative. It will also be hard to rent your apartment, with the lack of certainty about where your kid will be going to school. — no kids but owns real estate on In the News: Kindergarten Waitlists Cleared
So they have put a bandaid on the lack of school seats by seriously overcrowding already crowded schools. No new seats were actually created. If PS 150 moves or closes after next year, where do they plan to house those 60 kids moving up to 1st grade? Can 89 accommodate 5 1st grade classes the following year? In addition to the guaranteed kindergarten wait lists where do they find space as these kids move up? — TribecaMom on In the News: Kindergarten Waitlists Cleared
THE GREEK, IS BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY, ALOT OF ATTENTION TO DETAILS, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS !!! — ANNA SGANTZOS on New Kid on the Block: The Greek
Too bad! I'd go with my dog too. — StrollerlessTribecaHottie on Seen & Heard: Cher!
@Strollerless: You're right, it's only for guests. A waste of space, if you ask me (and I have a dog). — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: Cher!
I think Deborah Cox is performing at the Pier Dance as well! I think she is one the biggest underrated singers of Dance Music. Love Her! Cher's going to steal all her thunder though. Poor Deborah! :-) — Luis on Seen & Heard: Cher!
http://www.grandlifehotels.com/culture/soho-grand-dog-park-opening/ http://www.cntraveller.com/news/2013/april/soho-grand-dog-park-new-york Is it open to the public? Fact - Tribeca and Soho Grand are very pet friendly. I know you can take your dog to the bar at Tribeca Grand (and even order food). They may be still owned by the Hartz Mountain (of pet fame) company. — StrollerlessTribecaHottie on Seen & Heard: Cher!
Way to go Smithers! Way to go. — Francesco on In the News: Bloomberg Opposes Bill Punishing Buyers of Counterfeits
I chuckled when I read the NY Sports comment! There is NO WAY they will pick a chain like NYSC to take space. At a minimum, it will be an Equinox but it will be a high end Gym. — Luis on In the News: Kindergarten Waitlists Cleared
tribeca is tribeca - i don't care what anyone says. it will NEVER be the upper west side! — Heather on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
Branding! Gap doesn't care if it's an unsuccessful store -- they see it as money well spent on a physical advertisement trading on Tribeca's high-class-cache. Also see: Starbucks, 7/11, etc — jfrankp on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
I'd personally rather have the Mexican restaurant than a Gap if I lived in that building. Much worse foot traffic. — StrollerlessTribecaHottie on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
Gap is going to seem so out of place on that block. I also don't think it will generate $$$ for the company. Customers are trained to shop Gap on sale and given the expensive rent, I doubt it will become one of their successful locations. Crewcuts couldn't survive on Hudson. I have my doubts. — Tribeca Resident on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
NOOOOOOOO! — Carol Tanenbaum on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
Sad news. I've purchased a number of unique and lovely items here and will keep an eye out for a new location, hoping that it won't be far away. On that note, I have yet to see Just Scandinavian resurface and look forward to that too. — Andrea on Cristina Dos Santos Is Closing Her N. Moore Shop
Nice article! i went into the store from reading on Tribeca Citizen. Great new store! Went in last night after I received an email about some wines for Fathers Day. Everyone was helpful & the selection was great, I'll be back! — Mark P. on Vestry Wines Is Now 24 Hubert Wines
What's with the haters? I moved in the area a month ago and have been in the store a few times. Rom actually recommended a bottle from their "25 & Under" selection. He was very nice and informative and I only spent $18. I can only say that if "jenny" above was as rude as she is in that post, I wouldn't have "bothered" with her either. — Kate on Vestry Wines Is Now 24 Hubert Wines
@James: Usually the Post (and not the NYT) has a had time figuring out where Tribeca begins. How does anyone not know that Mercer isn't below Canal? — Erik Torkells on In the News: Bloomberg Opposes Bill Punishing Buyers of Counterfeits
