  • The bells KP hears could be from the Clocktower Gallery at 108 Leonard Street. A very cool space ! — tommy flynn on Seen & Heard: What’s Happening Above Chipotle

  • Dear A. J. Pietrantone, Perhaps your website could also accommodate an electronic option to vote against the NID (similar to the affirmative vote now possible) to allow for an easier and transparent tally of residents for and against the initiative? Thanks. — Rick on The Proposed Hudson River Park Tax: A Response

  • @Mike: Indeed! I was walking up Church and had to wait for one part to be wheeled around the corner from Leonard, and when I said to the worker who was making me wait that I could've beaten the crane, he said, "You don't wanna get hit by that." (I agreed.) Here's a photo of the crane from earlier today: https://tribecacitizen.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/56-leonard-tower-crane.jpg — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: Asphalt Green Has Electricity

  • They assembled the tower crane for 56 Leonard over the weekend. Pretty cool to see up close how they do that. — Mike on Seen & Heard: Asphalt Green Has Electricity

  • Isn't it great to have readers with encyclopedic memories of Tribeca's history? — Andrea on Seen & Heard: Asphalt Green Has Electricity

  • Did Kutshers install brand-new equipment, or were the ovens, mixers, retarders, etc. still there from the mid-1990s, when 186 Franklin was Tribakery and there was a retail bakery operation at the front of the store with a lunch-service deli behind.* If Kutshers would bring back the pretzels that Tribakery used to make, I'd be much more inclined to visit it. *This was before many of Tribeca Citizen's readers moved into the neighborhood: before that space was Kutshers, before it was Mai House, even before it became Zeppole, that space was a wholesale and retail bakery supplying all Myriad restaurants with terrific breads, rolls, cakes, and such. Everything old is new again, eh? — Suzanne F on Seen & Heard: Asphalt Green Has Electricity

  • I speak as a long time TriBeCa resident but not a customer of Fresh Direct. I believe FD has every right to make their deliveries and set up shop so to speak on various streets during their delivery times. By having one truck stay parked while the delivery people make their deliveries cuts out numerous trucks, more pollution and more traffic/parking problems. The delivery people in my experience are polite and keep busy until they are finished Healthy competition allows for this situation and FD should not be penalized because of it. Such is life in the city...there is always something. — Lisa on “Spider-Man 2” to Film in FiDi

  • Thanks so much for posting about this exhibit. As you say, who doesn't love the Woolworth building! I live directly across the street (from the museum) and probably would have missed it, but now will make sure i get there. — Christine on What I Learned About the Woolworth Building

  • I can't wait to see the exhibit. I love the Woolworth. I understand it, but I am disappointed that they no longer allow people in to look at the lobby. — Doug on What I Learned About the Woolworth Building

  • This is wonderful! I absolutely adore the Woolworth Building, and recently wrote a piece on what its fashion sense would be like if it could dress: http://nakedrealestate.com/2012/11/if-the-woolworth-building-could-dress/ The Wooly is also a great venue. — Amanda Sawyer on What I Learned About the Woolworth Building

  • OMG - so so sooooooooo sorry it's taken me so long to weigh in on this controversy-a-palooza. But the results from "the LAB" took longer than expected for a Friday afternoon in early-early March. That being said and appreciated, after looking ever so closely at the initial reports, it seems that the data only confirms and verifies and makes certain that the IP address of "the Adam" and "the Doctor" are actually emanating from the same apartment in the BPC area-ish and/or "smart"phone. These results coupled with "the Adam's" hilarious tendency to misspell every other word in "his or her" comments, similar to that of "the Doctor," leads cyber-bullshitting experts to believe that "the Adam" and "the Doctor" are one in the same. GASP! Again, these are just initial reports and are subject to alternate universe interpretations. My team will be at "Weather-Up" pouring over the data for the rest of this evening, if anyone wants to put in their two cents or buy a round or two cents. The NYPD and the FBI's Cyber-Bullshitting TASK FORCE and ASSAULT TEAMS are standing by. Kirk out. — Jim Smithers on In the News: Pier 40 Debate
