  • Agreed. It becomes impassable around those restaurants. Either we need to widen sidewalks, or Tribeca needs a few more restaurants to distribute the diners! — Marcus on Celebrated restaurateur and chef coming to join Bâtard

  • I love our Tribeca restaurants, truly the best. But does anyone think the outdoor dining has gotten excessive ? We all love Bubby’s but I consider them one of the worst offenders… can they possibly be entitled to all that spade ?! The 60 people in line ever weekday who take up the entire curb are an eyesore. Yves and Locanda Verde are also big offenders .. do they really need the tables on BOTH sides of the curb? Strollers and people walking in opposite directions cannot fit down the curb ,, and I love that tribeca has larger curbs that should be comfortable to walk. Who is managing the outdoor dining ? — Mel on Celebrated restaurateur and chef coming to join Bâtard

  • Sandy turned me on to the world of art and Art history. We would often skip school to go into the Guggenheim or the Whitney, or the museum of Modern Art. I am shocked and saddened by this, and had hoped to see her in NYC one of these years. — Amy Lewis Brown on Longtime Downtown resident Sandy Imhoff dies at 70

  • In regards to the BNT (Barnett Newman Triangle) and Finn square. Is there a group like Friend's of Duane Park, and Washington Market that can petition to the DOT or CB1 to beautify these spaces? — Sunil Gopal on Art in Tribeca: Mark Handforth in Barnett Newman Triangle

  • Yes, it does have potential. DOT could not care less. Compare what the Parks Department did with "Sunflower Park," the triangle at Broome Street, Watts Street, and Thompson Street in Soho. 1975: https://collections.mcny.org/asset-management/24UAKVJ54CN?FR_=1&W=1920&H=955 2014: https://www.bridgeandtunnelclub.com/bigmap/manhattan/lowermanhattan/soho/sunflowerpark/0204-23-14.jpg — james on Art in Tribeca: Mark Handforth in Barnett Newman Triangle

  • Thank you James for highlighting negligence in fixing up Barnett Newman Triangle. Plop art does not solve the problem. DDG and DOT are not fulfilling their promise. — Heide Fasnacht on Art in Tribeca: Mark Handforth in Barnett Newman Triangle

  • I saw this art yesterday, glad to have it here. I do wish the City would spruce up this plaza. If they removed the parking spots on the sides, they could have more space for greenery or maybe a fountain. I also would like to see the sidewalk extended to Franklin. Anyway, both this spot and Finn Square have so much more potential. — FiDiGuy on Art in Tribeca: Mark Handforth in Barnett Newman Triangle

  • The whole city smells like skunk weed. If people choose to risk brain damage and pollute their own lungs with it, so be it. However, others shouldn't be forced to inhale that pollution. • Which date is bet to go to complain about tell the smoke shops that have been popping up. In particular the 157 chambers street one next to 16 handles which its shed has become the new smoking weed spot. Children can’t sit there because you have people smoking weed. Also Mr Exotix location. It doesn’t make sense to have 6 smoke shops in. 2 block radius — Sandra on Community Board 1 agendas for May
