This is a shame. Could have been a really nice addition to the neighborhood and they did a lovely job of updating it - it should have flourished. Challenging for a small biz to succeed though with the NIMBY litigious neighbor situation they faced. — TJ on L’Entree has been closed by the marshal
I had brunch, food was fresh and latte was perfect! The service was very accommodating for all requests. Prices were typical for farm to table fresh food. There are some kinks, no decaf coffee, somewhat slower service, but all were addressed and were noted. The place gave off neighborhood vibe. — Roseanne on Ol’ Days is open on Warren
It is a known SCAM nationwide!! See this legal complaint filed in Michigan on Jan 25, 2021. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/documents/cases/1_-_complaint_2.pdf — Susan S on Nosy Neighbor: Is there a non-profit scam going on?
Let's be honest. If a loud night club opens next to you in a 100 year old non insulated building till 4 am, you would not be happy either. That's the way this place started and that's what they would have turned to again as they failed. This is not a pro business or anti business issue. Clubs should be in commercial areas that are away from residential. The neighbors would welcome any business that doesn't create noise or crowds at night, and they do so with so many other businesses. For years the hot dog venders used the space, filling up the sidewalks with carts every morning but working with us and we with them. Someone says "but I have noticed a lot of anti-business residents who feel like Tribeca is a suburb of NYC" Have you really? Do you live in Tribeca? An example or two to support what you're saying? That is not the Tribeca I've been in for more than 30 years and not my experience. — stjara on Neighbors fight the cocktail lounge coming to 293 Church
$20 for a sandwich? — Margaret on Ol’ Days is open on Warren
I did not eat there yet but went in the place and it is somewhat expensive. Advertised as a cafe but it is a restaurant that has coffee. — Maureen on Ol’ Days is open on Warren
I agree. I stood shocked by reading that. I’m like what are they implying by mentioning Harlem and DC. The demographics in those areas are primarily African American so to say someone from Harlem or DC would be shocked by the menu is extremely racist and disappointing. Those prices aren’t even that extreme, $20-25 dollars for a cocktail is standard in mostly all areas of NYC. I think you need to edit that Ms. Tribeca Citizen. -FROM UWS — NYUWS on New Kid on the Block: Titsou Bar
I give it 6-8 mos—just not the neighborhood for it. Why can't we get a great Tapas bar or Jazz club ( yeah I know both of those failed). — Dizzy on “Barcade” = bar + arcade coming to Amish space

We were here first. Just stop coming, please. — Paul on Neighbors fight the cocktail lounge coming to 293 Church
That's true, it will be interesting to see. Although there are lots of young people with disposable income to feed the machines and buy craft beer in the Financial District. — malcolm on “Barcade” = bar + arcade coming to Amish space
Maybe that was it! — Tribeca Citizen on Nosy Neighbor UPDATE: Who are the Amish people delivering food on Chambers?
Just for the record, the strip club has been in Tribeca longer than most of us -- since 1987 -- and is the only business on that block that has never had a complaint sent to CB1. — Tribeca Citizen on “Barcade” = bar + arcade coming to Amish space
I am curious if a place like this can actually make it in Tribeca. It makes sense in areas like the East Village or Jersey City, but the average Tribeca resident is a bit older and out of that demographic. Maybe they're counting on the same traffic that regularly fills Treadwell Park in BPC, but this will certainly be a different offering from what the neighborhood has had in a while. — James S on “Barcade” = bar + arcade coming to Amish space
I saw them yesterday and looked for the artist's name. If it was there it is very difficult to find. I liked them a lot. The name of the artist should be posted much easier than whatever it is. I saw other artworks at the City Hall Park a few years ago, the provenance was much clearer and the artist's name was in large letters. I hope that'll be done soon. — Meg Williams on Art in Tribeca: Jaime Miranda-BambarĂ©n at Thomas Paine Park

People from other areas, tourists, etc., drinking, having fun, and hanging out. The horror! I blame Eric Adams. — malcolm on Community Board 1 agendas for April
This new place in the old Amish sounds like a horrible addition to the hood. Lots of people from other areas, tourists, etc. All drinking and hanging out. Just when Murray St.had started to come up in the world. Very sad news for Murray St residents. — Tom on Community Board 1 agendas for April
Barcade across from a strip club? What neighborhood is this???? — TribecaPickleBall on “Barcade” = bar + arcade coming to Amish space
Yep, I've ordered from one such farm called Dutch Meadows. When they told me I was to pick up the order from the lobby of the dentist's office on Chambers, I was almost certain I got scammed. But sure enough, my order was there, and it was of excellent quality. — James S on Nosy Neighbor UPDATE: Who are the Amish people delivering food on Chambers?
