Yay!! I remember the old Willner’s Chemists in that space and was so sad when it closed bc it was so convenient and homey. What landlord rents to a seedy-looking smoke shop (age 21 required to enter) across from City Hall? Building owner shoulda known better. Good riddance! — Loren on Jungle Boys smoke shop has closed
Some people mistakenly think that domesticated pets can survive in the wild. Cats do not do well hunting for food. They contract parasites from animals they catch and feed on and sadly have a shorter life as they become filled with these parasites. If the cat will come to a human, please take it to a no kill shelter so it has the hope of being adopted. My daughter lives in Tribeca and rescued a cockatiel was was left on the street with its wings clipped. These sweet beings rely on the kindness of those seeing an animal in distress reach out to help. — Alexandra Simmonds on Lost bunny rescued from parking lot
What a wonderful heartwarming story (great tip re the blanket). There is a black cat that has been spotted and fed occasionally at night at 7 WTC. It is believed the cat was a pet, but tossed aside and could be in trouble. If anyone has seen him/her or has any knowledge please help! I am not knowledgeable about this, I read about the situation on NextDoor. — Erin Howard on Lost bunny rescued from parking lot

The popsicles are sooooo good. We've had the strawberry shortcake and cafe con leche - both great. Can't wait for summer. For now get the hot chocolate, which has a wonderful Mexican cinnamon flavor. Such a great new addition to our walk to and from school. — Kathleen on New Kid on the Block: Caliza Next Door

Her website says “Marian Goodman Gallery was founded here in late 1977, at a time when few women worked in the art world." In fact there is a long list of women who not only "worked in the art world" in the 60's and 70's but actually owned galleries -- Edith Halpert, Eleanor Ward, Mary Boone, Viginia Dwan, Holly Solomon, Martha Jackson, Nancy Hoffman, Illeana Sonnabend, Paula Cooper, Betty Cunningham, Virginia Zabriski, Rose Fried, Jill Kornblee abd Virginia Dwan among them. — George Bacon on But wait, there’s more! The explanations I have heard from a few gallerists for the choice of Tribeca is indeed that Chelsea is becoming too expensive. Some galleries moved from other areas by grabbing pandemic discounts to move to the spaces down here and lock in leases. Apparently the deals are better than in Chelsea. Another reason I heard is just the preference for the kinds of spaces here, with high ceilings and distinctive architectural character. — Marcus on But wait, there’s more! the popsicles are outrageous! — MBCG on New Kid on the Block: Caliza Next Door
Is Chelsea getting too expensive for galleries? I thought the entire industry was upended by online viewing which decreased the need for gallery space. — MK on But wait, there’s more! Marian Goodman Gallery takes 385 Broadway

It’s very common for these businesses to be a place for cartel and other underground money laundering operations. You will notice no one is ever in these shops yet they are popping up everywhere and stay open without a lot of business. Any activity they do have is just enabling the money laundering activities to commence all right in front of the government and FBI offices which is the joke of it all. If weed is legalized, then the money flow and opportunity to launder significant amounts of cash becomes large. Landlords lose(as they tend to stop paying rent), neighborhoods lose, cartels and other drug backed organizations win. — Obvious on Seen & Heard: More smoke shops
