Cafe Amore also makes vegan pies, either with their splendid basic crust (the crust Pam says she sometimes picks up) or the new cauliflower based one (I haven't tried that one yet). We've been going there for years. Back in the 80's they were across the street near the corner at Greenwich. — Jeff on The Slice: A new home for Cafe Amore plus a pizza update

Mr. Komanoff, On a related topic, perhaps you’d know... Why have Transportation Alternatives and bicycling advocacy organizations supported “Open Streets “ on avenues which force bus rerouting? Why do these entities support action that sacrifices essential mass transit? Especially mass transit that is needed by elderly, people with health or mobility issues? — Jen on Construction starting on the former garage on N. Moore?
Maybe this will motivate them to remove the scaffold on the alley of the building that his been there for 20+ years? Doubt it. — Ok on Jack Shainman Gallery will open in the Clock Tower Building
To the point of police reversing course and not speaking to the masturbating man, it doesn’t surprise me, considering the work-to-rule go-slow attitude some of our police force exhibited in the past . And I also am reminded that police unions tended overwhelmingly (PBA, Sargents union, Patrick Lynch et al) to support our former president, and Rep Zeldin. Defunding police and bail reform are not connected. I want police to do police work not social work or administrative tasks. I also would appreciate police more if they did a better job of living the values imprinted on their vehicles - Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect. Some do, but a lot don’t which was quite evident during the pandemic with a sometimes haphazard approach to mask wearing during a public health emergency. — SGO964 on Seen & Heard: Not the fun stuff

That's great news! That lot has been such a vandalized trashed eyesore for so long. Now if the same could happen for the outdoor urinal, I mean parking lot, at Broadway and Lispenard... — Marcus on Hold the Phone! A new building *is* coming to 14 White
I have also wondered about this space as it needs some help. I reason the parking spots on the side couldn’t be removed to provide more public space and safer side walks. — FiDiGuy on Action finally at 14 White — but not what we hoped
Great news for the neighborhood, I look forward to seeing the renovated space (also, hod did it fall into such disrepair? From its time as a City court building?). I know the developer early on floated this space as potentially an upscale restaurant, which always seemed like a stretch to me. I think an Equinox would have also been a good fit; I do wonder how many more galleries will end up in Tribeca! — FiDiGuy on Jack Shainman Gallery will open in the Clock Tower Building
I know....been wondering what the hold up has been on getting the triangle developed (a green space, I believe).....thought that was a part of the requirement in order to get approval to build 100 Franklin. — Michael on Action finally at 14 White — but not what we hoped

Hi, When will that triangle space between White and Franklin going to fixed/spruced up. It is called the “Barnett Newman Triangle” named after the abstract expressionist artist Barnett Newman who lived at 36 White St. That triangle was supposed to be developed by the developer 100 Franklin. Why hasn’t it happens yet? Thanks, Neil — Neil on Action finally at 14 White — but not what we hoped
