No one is asking for more fast food in tribeca. It brings the dregs of the earth, awful smells, and terrible food. Why would anyone approve this? — Leighton on More coming, and some already here
Agreed, like why is there not a Peruvian chicken place in Tribeca/Battery Park? Everyone loves that with rice, beans, yucca, green sauce. Mouth is watering just talking about it. Enough with the overpriced French/Steak restaurants and give us more great food instead. — Johnny on Peruvian restaurant coming to Chambers and Church
I'm very curious how Deborah Glick supporters justify this bizarre corruption. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/politics/albany/2019/01/07/new-york-legislature-get-re-elected-retire-and-then-collect-salary-and-pension/2500433002/ "Democratic Assembly members Peter Abbate Jr. of Brooklyn and Deborah Glick of Manhattan put in for their pensions as they are seated for another term in the Legislature, according to the state Comptroller's Office. Based on their years of service, age and previous salaries, their pensions could each be about $57,000, according to a calculator on the state Comptroller Office's website." — Simon on The Candidates 2022: Deborah Glick for Assembly District 66
And POPEYE's Opening Soon on Futon between William and Nassau. I don't do fast food when I'm in Manhattan, BUT I make an exception for Popeye's! — Luis Vazquez (FiDi Fan Page) on More coming, and some already here
Thanks for the heads up greenmarket Occulus opens today w the vendor info. And news to me Disney HQ is being built Hudson Square. I have felt as if I’ve gotten lost in that area recently. — j. on Seen & Heard: Washington Market Park concerts start this week

Ah, the classic “the other side has bigots so I get to be one too” defense. This author threatened the destruction of private property because the target espoused a different viewpoint. Then, in another classic move, the author says I’m kidding—all in good fun and jest. This is 100%, Grade A bigotry, but please, defend by all means. — Jason on Seen & Heard: Where do I start?
Soooo excited for this new Peruvian place in our neighborhood .. thats one type of food that doesnt have that many good restaurants in the city: Peruvian. — Richard on More coming soon — or already here!

Artesano is a new Peruvian restaurant coming to 90 Chambers (The old Kaede location). I met the owners - great guys. Also spent time in Peru recently - great food. Super stoked for this place to open up!!! — Jack McT on More coming soon — or already here!
Funny, there’s a NYC retiree rally at 4:30 on Wednesday in Foley Sq. DC 37 is one of the City unions that sold out their retirees to fund raises for current members. Retirees won the first lawsuit, City is appealing. Assumption is that if City loses, it will force retirees into Advantage by eliminating other options. So much for unions being good guys, https://gothamist.com/news/nyc-unions-vote-could-force-government-retirees-privatized-health-insurance — A. on Nosy Neighbor: Is the building at Barclay and West coming down?
Good gravy! I wish people here could somehow step back from themselves for a moment — take a bird's eye view of what's taking place in these comments... The conditioned pack dog response is not a flattering look. How long will it be before we realize that these preconscious reactions are destructive to our health and humanity? The key comment was an offhand jape, a breath in a torrent, a pee in the ocean. Let it go, please. — David G. Imber on Seen & Heard: Where do I start?
I disagree. This is not a “both sides” crisis in the country now - it is primarily a problem with right wing, racist and religious extremists who have embraced Trump’s lies. The far left has its nut cases and bad actors but nothing close to what’s happening on the right. A huge segment of the population is living in an alternate reality - and they are becoming increasingly dangerous. — Anne baxter on Seen & Heard: Where do I start?
Deborah Glick has been working in Albany for all of the issues that are important to New York and lower Manhattan. Just to mention a couple that were not covered in the interview, she favors affordable housing in the 5 World Trade Center development and keeping the Elizabeth Street Garden from being destroyed. She has been an outstanding member of the Assembly and she should be reelected to continue her great work. — JSMiller on The Candidates 2022: Deborah Glick for Assembly District 66
We can’t move on - he’s still a huge threat to the country. He’s still involved in a rolling coup attempt. — Anne baxter on Seen & Heard: Where do I start?
I welcome you to express your views when you see fit. And I share your view of Andrew Giuliani’s preposterous attempt to run for governor - and the Trumpy truck in the bike lane by City Hall. You rarely take a political position (that I’m aware of) and even this isn’t that - it’s pointing out the obvious. Andrew Giuliani is a privileged know-nothing clown - just like Trump - and his candidacy is an insult to the people of this state. There’s no sense of mission there other than to try to use his much dullied name to get ahead. — Anne baxter on Seen & Heard: Where do I start?

Re: Planter Rats (and I speak from experience) – they don't actually nest in the plants, they burrow in the dirt. (Equally disgusting, but a distinction.) Remarkably easy fix: lay chicken wire on the surface of the dirt, cover with decorative gravel, and the rats leave the planters alone. — KVB on More coming soon — or already here!
Oh for godsakes, she didn’t say she keyed the car, she said she wanted to. When I saw the photo, I wanted to projectile-vomit. Just what we need, another entitled nepotistic right-wing ignoramus wanting to run things. Thanks for doing what you do, Pam. — SJ on Seen & Heard: Where do I start?
