Glad that gorgeous building is getting a well needed updating. I am also glad it hasn't been torn down or converted into a couple of luxury condos. — TG on Seen & Heard: Viet Café opens tomorrow
So lovely to watch but I get sad and lament the old days when I had a little one to do all these wonderful celebrations with my now grown kid. — TG on What’s better than a Tribeca Halloween?

I hope so also! We keep hearing promises for such a ban, and it still hasn't happened. — Marcus on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
marte doesnt really know what or how affordable housing is financed. his take on the soho rezone was very simplistic and election politics oriented. Talking points are not enough. Soho can be done right but he and the opposition have created such distractions with misinformation. — Patrick on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
I voted for Marte, he assured me he would ban the incredibly cruel use of carriage horses in NYC. I hope he keeps his word. — A2 on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
Looking forward to the Tofurky roasted on a sidewalk spit for Easter! — James on New Vegetarian on the Block: Greca
Is it me or does the BPC wall look very different from the renderings? Weren't they supposed to have some cut-out designs on them for some transparency? Or is the dark grayish blueish wall a covering over the actual wall? — Not Sure on Seen & Heard: Marathi opens at Tribeca’s Kitchen
When is that scaffolding gonna go? Also 86 the plastic curtains next spring. — X on New Vegetarian on the Block: Greca
In NYTimes, so far at moment only proposal 2 and 5 are passed. — j. on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
Gotcha, ok. So passed here but did not prevail statewide. My bad. I sometimes forget about the rest of the state... — TC on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
I heard back from Downtown Alliance. The program is on hold. Oddly, they said it was because Sanitation Dept is postponing the collection of food scraps. Very confusing. — S on One more push for composting
We need this in TriBeCa! I won't be going every week, but will be there a lot! This has to b e supported... Everyone loves Greek food and the vegetarian switch is so much tastier than I had expected. Such a great transformation! Loving it.. — Vege on New Vegetarian on the Block: Greca

Great! I'm all for more vegetarian and vegan options in the neighborhood. Looking forward to checking it out. — Marcus on New Vegetarian on the Block: Greca
"The measures — Question 3 and Question 4 — were backed by a plurality of voters in New York City, though at least 200,000 in the five boroughs left that part of their ballot empty. "However, the provisions were staunchly opposed in many upstate counties — including in Erie County, home of the heavily Democratic city of Buffalo. Neither measure had more than 40 percent of the vote. "A third measure — Question 1 — would have removed partisan requirements insuring that new district maps must receive some support from at least one member of the minority party in Albany, i.e. the Republicans. It, too, appeared headed for defeat with just 39 percent saying yes." https://nypost.com/2021/11/03/ballot-measures-to-loosen-voting-rules-are-big-losers-in-new-york-election/ — James on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
Pam doesn't have to check any newspaper, she posted the BoE results - BoE is the only info source that matters. — X on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
The link person posted in the original comment are NYS Board of Elections unofficial results and allow you to see vote totals by county on the ballot proposals. In NYC ballot proposal #1 was approved by a majority of voters in all counties except Richmond (Staten Island), but overwhelmingly disapproved in most other counties in the state. I didn't check #3 and #4, but it wouldn't be a stretch to guess the pattern was the same there. — N on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
They're state proposals, not city. I guess it's possible the results could change if there are enough absentee ballots that still need to be counted, but 1/3/4 are all rejected as of current counts. Go check your preferred newspaper. — person on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
You are incorrect. I am not sure what this state link takes you to, but the results from the city BoE are here, and all the proposals had a majority YES: https://web.enrboenyc.us/ — Tribeca Citizen on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
Proposals #1, #3, and #4 didn't pass. https://nyenr.elections.ny.gov/ — person on Christopher Marte wins City Council seat
