Explosion of counterfeit sellers on and around Canal Street. The steps taken to rein this in have failed. What can be done? — LV on What do you care about? The results — and soon, the answers
TG thank you for the insight to what the reality is...Adam I agree with you on the negative impacts on the local communities of adding giant jails and not overriding the historic rules. However, I would rather have the homeless OFF the streets and able to get back on their feet vs living on the street. Not everyone who is homeless is mentally ill, a criminal or drug addicted. There are plenty of people who lost their jobs and need to get back on their feet. — TK on Neighbors organizing against homeless shelter for Wooster Street
This is excellent. Thank you for compiling this and applying the questions to the candidates. I look forward to hearing the results! — Marcus on What do you care about? The results — and soon, the answers
I believe i read on the Fidi Fan Page that the CVS on Fulton was going to close... so it makes sense they are taking newer locations. — Richard on CVS’ expanding footprint in the neighborhood
There was a Staples at 217 (Two Hundred Seventeen) Broadway that closed. There is also a Staples at 2250 (Two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty) Broadway, at 84th Street. They are two different locations, separated by 5.5 miles. — james on Staples on Broadway will close permanently
See this post, which gets results back in an hour. — Tribeca Citizen on Working the line at CityMD
I have no idea who is buying the building you reference, which is on 96th Street, but CVS is indeed taking the retail lease from Staples on Broadway and Vesey. I sourced it from CVS directly. — Tribeca Citizen on Staples on Broadway will close permanently
I tested few times with Labq, they have a great system, I’m getting results within 24 hours, and a text notification with a link for the results, in January It did take me a few days to get results back, the major labs had turnaround times of a week or two, It seems that everyone struggled after the holiday season to get results on time, but I’m great full for the NysDoh for getting this vans out in the street, it’s a life saver, I used to wait hours in the line by CitiMD and the results was few times a false positive, only PCR results are accurate, We will need to have to this test locations for some time, as I have some allergy issues and my brother does as well, and he got very sick from the vaccine, I guess one day I will get it too, but it’s really great to have this service. — Robert on Working the line at CityMD
That's a lie, Reeves Teletape III is buying the 2250 Broadway address, & not CVS. — Nikolai Blanco on Staples on Broadway will close permanently
I'm wondering that every time I walk by there also. It's a real shame that the beautiful building is unused and repeatedly targeted with vandalism. Now it's just an empty eyesore. Maybe the asking rent is too high, plus the general seediness of that intersection (e.g. the counterfeit hawkers) may scare away any possible tenants. A dream scenario: some kind of cultural use which optimizes the beauty of the building, like a museum or museum "annex" or performing arts space. But even the Duane Reade was better than the current vacancy (and it was convenient having a Duane Reade nearby). — Marcus on David Zwirner gallery taking over the M1-5 club space
Thank you Adam!!! Thank you!!! You said it so well! I don't know how bad its gonna get down here. But its gonna get bad!! These criminals have more rights than the communities. A dangerous sick agenda for downtown! — Native on Neighbors organizing against homeless shelter for Wooster Street

Thankfully, the 2 on Warren were finally closed up and West Broadway got repaved. W Broadway & Murray St manhole "chimney" still smoking, and I wonder if the Warren St CitiBike station will return or not. — Jonathan on Nosy Neighbor: Why are there always smoke stacks on Warren?

So what exactly is De Blasio's plan as he runs out the door after bringing back the worst part of the 70's to NYC? He has bloated our budget by 34%, adding 22k jobs to an inefficient City bureaucracy, ignored the upswing in crime and pathetically tried to campaign for President and Governor as he sleepwalks through his final term as the most hated in office NYC Mayor I can recall. Please tell me how any of the following is a good idea for our community. 1) Closing Riker's. Riker's is a disaster, but spending what will end up probably being $20+ billion on four mega neighborhood jails is not the solution. Even Judge Lippman disagreed with the scale and negative local impact. Spend $2 billion to fix Riker's and make it more accessible and then spend a few billion more on education, community services, job training and other programs to reduce recidivism. 2) Override Landmarks to over develop Soho & Noho. We have Landmarks for a reason because we have previously seen the problems caused by overdevelopment. Once you destroy neighborhoods such as Soho, you cannot bring them back. 3) Flood downtown with homeless while neglecting our own current homelessness issues. First they shoved part of the UWS problem they caused down to Wall Street and now plan to move 200 men mainly from Riker's and Bellevue to one of the newest and most recently renovated blocks on Canal Street. Add to that 200 more homeless men slated for Wooster Street and the other announced Downtown shelters and you can’t help but wonder what is the City's actual goal besides wrecking Downtown? I am certain some of you will cry NIMBY-ism, but we already have our fair share of homeless shelters and we haven't done a thing to help the homeless currently on the streets in our own neighborhood. Soho/Tribeca/Chinatown are primarily residential, cultural and tourist destinations and deserve better than to be treated as a dumpling ground by De Blasio and his minions. — Adam on Neighbors organizing against homeless shelter for Wooster Street

The Italian food market was a red herring. Not sure what is cooking now, but I can ask around... — Tribeca Citizen on David Zwirner gallery taking over the M1-5 club space
I love this place! Got to go once before the restaurant shut down, and have been back a few times since. There are so many can't miss dishes. The wine list is incredible. The servers are so sweet! I want to try eating in a little house next time! Pro tip: cauliflower and black truffle — Alex on Catching Up With New Kids: Farra Wine Bar
Mayor prefers to use spaces in areas like this with high potential from real estate taxes for homeless shelters rather than optimizing revenue for city, Mayor was napping during economics 101 in school, an early napping trend that has continued through his absentee mayoral term. — S on In the News: Century 21 on sale

Great addition to the neighborhood. world-class gallery will be a great anchor for this area! Any idea if the vacant building on the southwest corner of broadway and canal has any new plans? i think was originally going to be an italian food market? — John on David Zwirner gallery taking over the M1-5 club space

They can not be relocated on Greenwich Street where Clementine is coming and a New Barber Shop has just moved in. There are plenty of empty areas to move them around Tribeca. My heart breaks for the Hideaway and other establishments that have this problem. — Native on Duane Street restaurants petitioning to get Citi Bike dock removed
My brother, who was a chef at the time of Bey’s wedding, catered some of the event. They actually did a pot luck reception and he helped to keep the food that was delivered by the guests warm. However, he also did the apps and some desserts which were partially stored in our fridge. Apparently, the venue did not have enough refrigeration... — JVZ on In the News: When Beyoncé and Jay-Z got married
