So call First Precinct then. Oh wait, they won't do anything cuz that's actually work. God forbid they bring a mental health counselor down to talk with this man to get him off the street. God forbid FP stations a patrol car on Franklin two measly blocks below the stationhouse to keep an eye on him, whoever else, and thst stupid members only store which has drawn two holdups a month apart. Where was your "concern" for those incidents? I know I called for a patrol car to monitor that block. Enough with this aggrieved mostly white New York Post letter writer bitching from you, the whiner above you, and others. First Precinct is one of the safest precincts if not the safest Precinct in the city. Therefore, you would think NYPD would build on that - they won't. They choose to loaf around at the stationhouse and the two illegal private cops only parking lots they've created. They love their plush safe post. Any crime which takes place under their nose is due to THEIR incompetence not deBlasio's ok? They can't take the credit for low crime or a crime drop but not take the blame for high crime or a crime spike. — NYPDo Nothings on Seen & Heard: “We miss making soup and cookies”
I empathize with any business trying to survive right now. And it sounds like the owner is taking precautions to ensure everyone has fun in a safe environment this year. I also agree it’s important to have both sides of the story. This year has absolutely been far more tame than last years. However his comments suggesting that the issues with neighbors/opposition to the liquor license was largely due to a single night that was outside of his control are absolutely ridiculous As someone who lives within 100 yards of Blood Manor, this wasn’t one night of 25 year olds urinating on buildings. This was 4+ weeks of outdoor speakers, blasting music, performers dangling from scaffolding, crowds of people being encouraged to scream while waiting on line - much of it past midnight. There was zero regard for anyone living in the area- it was essentially an outdoor club for most of October. All of this was 100% under the owner’s control. The public urination was actually the least offensive part of the operation last year in my opinion I get that it’s Broadway, it’s going to be louder than other areas. But this was on another level and for him to even suggest otherwise is ridiculous — Broadway Neighbor on Examining the crowds and the screams at Blood Manor
Re: Clementine. Should look at Church Street between White and Franklin (East side). Three empty former restaurant/bar spaces. — JWM on Seen & Heard: “We miss making soup and cookies”
For what it’s worth, he is out and back at 71 Franklin. Up until this point, he had not interacted much with people passing on the sidewalk, but within the past few days have now seen him get verbally aggressive and in the face of two people and heard of at least 2 more. — ConcernedCitizen on Seen & Heard: “We miss making soup and cookies”
Of course he was back on the street immediately after. It's called justice reform and it's all the rage of the progressives. Maybe he has to kill someone before they hold him in jail. — Makes You Go "Hmm-m-m" on Seen & Heard: “We miss making soup and cookies”
I was there yesterday, Tuesday afternoon at around 3 ish. The line went up past 6th ave. I was given an estimate of 4 hours wait. I got out in 3 hours. I am was very happy to vote. It was rather chaotic disorganized and it was hard with restaurants and people being in their space outside. Inside, it was rather messy disorganized. But everyone in line was pleasant and patient and easy to be around. There was much miscommunication between different polling workers among the ones outside with loud horns versus non loud horns giving opposing directions causing people confusion re directions among people waiting in line . I got screamed at by a poll worker after I happily voted, as I was given opposite directions from two other polling workers on the exit entrance and the keeping of pen. Anyway, it’s over and let’s hope for improvement next time around. It’s worth the wait to vote !!! — j. on Early voting has started!
That’s very selfish. It would be fine for you to make decisions if only the adult in question took the risk of sickening and dying - but that’s not the way airborne infectious diseases work. You’re “right” to choose could harm vulnerable adults like me, health care workers, families and a host of others. So no, you don’t get to make your own decisions and your comment makes me very happy that we have strong rules. — A. on Examining the crowds and the screams at Blood Manor
Cold Creek Manor - for the record, I believe indoor dining should be allowed for adults to make their own decisions. However, your very self righteous attack of Larry Greenfield's comment about outdoor congregating being low risk, such as the protests, was horribly incorrect. Did you march in the protests? I did. And there was NO distancing at all. Masks were worn, but people were shoulder to shoulder for hours, and they were shouting the entire time. Masks worked and there were minimal infections resulting. You don't get to pick and choose which outdoor activities qualify as ok based on what you personally want in the neighborhood. Get off your high horse. — SP on Examining the crowds and the screams at Blood Manor
They moved their entire operation to the ground floor for the past couple months. My son registered to vote on a table outside, even in the rain. — Tribeca Citizen on Early voting has started!
I dropped my ballot at the box at 200 Varick today. It was in the first floor lobby, right inside the door - no need to get on an elevator. They must have moved the box from the10th floor. — MC on Early voting has started!
You are spot on, NISA is a great concept on paper but in practice it can't survive. Without Stadium Revenue, how would you run a club ? Its only a matter of time Detroit City and the New York Cosmos will move to the USL. The rest will have to play regionally in the UPSL or NPSL — Ikenna Iteogu on Soccer Made in Tribeca: New Amsterdam FC
Blood Manor is much more of a COVID 19 risk than The Hideaway, my point which you missed entirely. Nah ah comparing the outdoor protests to Blood Manor's crowds out front. First off the protest crowds were mostly masked while BM's crowds are mostly maskless. Second the protestors kept it moving & their distance when not while BM's crowds are standing in one place & not social distancing & no, pens aren't good enough when two or more people are bunched together masked and/or not (two people masked, idiot friend not.) The masked, distanced, marching protesters were outdoors while BM' s crowds are going in & out & inside for enough time to get or give COVID 19. So don't try to liken BM crowds to protestors cuz there's no comparison. It is utterly laughable & quite frankly an insult to my & others' intelligence that you think having a beer or two & a sandwich inside another snall nrighbirhood bar with up to 15 other people (since indoor capacity there is 16), masks on when not drinking or eating required, tables properly distanced, is more dangerous than Blood Manor who has dozens of people inside multiple times an hour. How dare you actually. — Cold Creek Manor on Examining the crowds and the screams at Blood Manor
Elderly people in an elevator twice during a deadly pandemic...unbelievable. Hey NYCBIE ever heard of a dropbox on the street? My brother's town of less than 20K has one. Do you people have cognitive dissonance or something? Everything you think is cool isn't cool at all. 1. Early presidential election year voting should begin the first Saturday of September. 2. Every NYC polling precinct should have a 24-7 dropbox. 3. Every person registered to vote in New York should receive a ballot before Labor Day with Voter card & keychain tag, polling site address & at least five dropbox locations from closest to farthest. We're in a pandemic thus we should all be able to drop our ballots in a dropbox at 3:43am if we want to. — Election Reform Now on Early voting has started!
I'm guessing Pepe was euthanized because he had rabies and/or some other illness - RIPepe. LOL @ NYPD called to get him & they come. Where was NYC Animal Control? Plushest post in NYC. 'Anyone have an idea of how he got down here? My guess is he was someone's pet or an undetected stowaway who jumped out of a truckbed, van, or hatchback coming to NYC from wherever. The pumpkin deliverer or one of Morgan's suppliers? Maybe someone who flees to upstate NY, Fairfield CT, or the Berkshires for the weekend. — Parliment Skunkadelic on A skunk by any other name…

In NYC, elderly and disabled people can skip the line. At St. Anthony’s, that means walking to Houston St and looking for the elevator, which is just around the corner from the voting entrance. They will take you down, and you will be at the front of the line. There is someone with a microphone announcing this. They have also gone over to people who qualify and told them to go to the elevator. It makes voting take minutes because, even in mid-afternoon on a rainy day, the line is long. — A. on Early voting has started!
The line yesterday early afternoon snaked and weaved around the blocks of northwest Soho all the way to Sixth Ave, and a volunteer said it would be at least an hour outside and another hour inside. But it moved so quickly for us (spaces between voters the whole way): around 50 minutes outside and fifteen inside, so just over an hour total. Worth every second of wait time! Plus, the atmosphere was festive—Marathon Day energy—with neighbors cheering us on as they passed and offering water and cookies. — Josey on Early voting has started!
I walked by St. Anthony around 3pm today (Monday) and the voting line was orderly and well-spaced but long. People were lined up from Houston and Sullivan, down Thompson to the middle of Prince. I walked by a very few long lines on the UWS yesterday. I stood in line on voting day 2016 for 30-40 minutes, so I’m happy to see that we have so many days of early voting since 2020 voter turnout is so strong. 🇺🇸 — Jolene on Early voting has started!

Well they went bankrupt on the 15th of May but they accepted a $150.00 returned item on the 18th from me and never refunded it. These people are crooks. On Wed, Jun 10, 2020 at 7:10 PM Best Made wrote: Hi James: We apologize for any delay in communication during this difficult time. On March 15, 2020, Best Made Company ceased normal business operations, terminated all of its employees and initiated a voluntary shutdown and liquidation. Ongoing financial losses, the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the last-minute collapse of an agreement to sell the company necessitated this decision. It would appear that your return was not fully processed prior to the shut down on March 15, which is why you have not received your refund. Unfortunately, in this case your refund in the amount of $175.00 is to be treated like all other unsecured creditors of the company - and no general unsecured creditor payments can be made until the company has fully realized its assets and reconciled its liabilities (a process that is still ongoing), so that it can properly account and ensure all creditors in each class are being treated properly/equally. Might we suggest that alternatively you attempt to initiate a refund through your credit card company. Best Made intends to be transparent in this liquidation so that you and all creditors can see that you are being treated appropriately and fairly. We are planning another update to all creditors with more details soon, and we appreciate your patience in this process. The closure of Best Made has been a huge disappointment for everyone, and we wish the outcome was different. Please direct all future communications to this email bestmade@bestmadeshutdown.com. We can't compare the haunted house to the Hideway (much as I love the place). People eating and drinking can't wear masks and spend time in the same space with other groups. If Blood Manor is really sticking to their plan as summarized in the NY Times, it may well be substantially lower risk than any indoor dining in the neighborhood. And we know from the summer protests that waiting outside wearing masks is a low risk activity. But they better be enforcing mask wearing! — Larry Greenfield on Examining the crowds and the screams at Blood Manor
