Why isn’t Danube included in the list of restaurants. Loved it, especially on a cold, wintry night — Jill on David Bouley is coming back to Tribeca
Sorry, but you can absolutely bike from Robert Moses to Atlantique on paths that are designed for biking and walking. The road between the parking lot and the first town is indeed dirt but it is easily bikeable. And there is even a drop off point for bikes at the end of the parking lot and signage for bikes as well. The paths are not sand -- they are concrete or boardwalk -- and the only other large vehicles are golf carts driven by maintenance people and the occasional resident. Otis Pike is not accessible by bike from any of the Fire Island towns; it is about six miles east of the last town in the strip. Also, you can't bike through Point O Woods anyway since it is a private community, so I am not sure how you are imagining a bike route from Robert Moses to Otis Pike... — Tribeca Citizen on Field Trip: Bike into Fire Island
Please note this article is WRONG to encouarge anyone to attempt to bike ride on Fire Island. The FI comminuties DO NOT connect to each other by bike trails (i.e., some communities are separated by long stretches of wilderness = no trail, just sand) Many of the Eastern FI communities DO NOT permit bike riding. The National Seashore (FINS) advises:...'These are primarily sand roads, which frequently don't provide a very pleasant or effortless ride. You may find yourself pushing your bike along some stretches of deep sand, and you may expose your bike to salt air. Always remember that you may be sharing the road with much larger vehicles that may not be able to see you./ Please note: Bicycles are not permitted in the Otis Pike Fire Island High Dune Wilderness area, on boardwalks or other pedestrian walks at National Park Service properties, and may not be ridden around park marinas.' — TJ on Field Trip: Bike into Fire Island
Sonia is, of course, right about the location of these markings. But they broke ground on the plaza in November 2017, so that puts us at nearly three years. And thanks for the info James! — Tribeca Citizen on Where in Tribeca?
Why are the NY police unions endorsing Humpty Trumpty? Aren't the police trained to detect liars and corruption? Guess there needs to be some additional training. #RetrainThePolice — Jim Smithers on Why aren’t officers wearing masks?

It sounds like the project was approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission, but that a final certificate of appropriateness was not issued and a letter requested that ODA must further reduce the visibility of the bulkhead. Does this mean they are likely to reduce the height of the bulkhead or move the mechanical enclosure? — Neighbor on N. Moore parking garage will be converted to offices

Rename this site feature Where In TriBeCa Sonia Stock Will Say. Hey Sonia how 'bout giving someone else a chance to guess? I didn't know this was Jeopardy - do you win money and/or a prize? This is between Reade and Hudson Street outside of the infamous Bogardus Park and street crossing from Kings Pharmacy to Morgan's Deli! Will Bogardus Park ever be finished that is the question? It is exhausting to see this park dragged out for so long. Now going on for almost 4 years...regards, Sonia — SONIA STOCK on Where in Tribeca?

Agree with your comments! Ebikes do not belong on sidewalks or bike paths Most of the Chinese restaurant drivers drive ebikes in sidewalks in BPC One Chinese restaurant driver even rides his motorized bike through the garden pathway of Gateway Plaza This is basically a pathway for kids playing in the garden One nearly squashed a 2 year old to death last week If I had a plate I would have called the restaurant — Sam on Broadway bike lanes going green as promised

Hi Erik! Thanks again for Pam; she's doing a fabulous job! However, I do miss your often spot on albeit sometimes deservedly cranky reports from our CB1 meetings. Do come and visit when travel is less dangerous for all. My husband taught painting for a semester at UCSB and it's a spectacular campus. Totally understand Santa Barbara's appeal to you. Stay safe. — Jean Grillo on Catching Up With: Erik Torkells
So are bicyclists who ride on sidewalks (not sidebikes), sometimes whizzing past people, and run red lights. And motorized bikes which should use the car lanes. And this is coming from someone who thinks we should have a commuter tax as I am SICK of people driving into NYC just for work and spending little or no money in it (zero if they brownbag their lunches and bring their own coffee or get free coffee.) You want to drive from Bedford, NY into an indoor parking space, go right up to your office, eat a sandwich and salad your spouse made you, and go home right after work, cool, more power to you, but you will pay $10 a day or the cost of the lunch you didn't buy from the deli two blocks away to do it. You are using my city to make your money and not putting dollars into the city's local economy, especially if your parking is free/included with the job. — Good bicylist, bad bicylist on Broadway bike lanes going green as promised
Boy do I miss Mariachi's for their vegetarian burrito. Chipotle's VB is better than EVERY place making one in TriBeCa but I don't want to get e.Coli, sorry. That's how bad the other places are. Green peppers in one? Mushrooms in another? Pureed pinto beans in yet another? Hello - rice, beans, guacamole, cheese, etc. with optional regular vegan sour cream please? Thanks! Fresco Tortillas @ Church & Reade makes the absolute worst one BUT they have a DELICIOUS black beans with melted sharp cheddar cheese soft flour tortilla for only $2.50 or so each (two or three will fill you up.) Thank you for posting this. Chinatown businesses are really hurting in this pandemic. I can't wait for Hop Lee to reopen. Their fried softshell crabs and braised taro duck dishes are delicious! Highly recommend. :) — TribecaMom on Shop Chinatown merch to help some old favorites
