There's something worth noting about this building that many may not be aware of. I had the privilege of speaking with the architect about it, and he was gleefully proud to make the point that the floor plates were modeled mathematically, and individually formed to fit the facade. A decade and a half after the building rose it's fully possible to construct even more complicated parametrically organized buildings by feeding numbers into machines and ordering the individual components from fabricators. His office developed its own proprietary software more than 20 years ago to help with the math, but Mr. Gehry used mind and hand to make his statements. I think it’s important to look at the full context before assuming anything happened at Casa Carmen. The owners immediately cooperated, reviewed hours of video footage, spoke with staff, checked their bar systems, and even invited the guest to personally review everything. The footage clearly shows nothing out of the ordinary, including the fact that she left the restaurant safely and alone in an Uber. She later stopped at another bar before going home, which is where her condition appears to have deteriorated — something the restaurant has no control over. Casa Carmen also serves strong, standardized margaritas made in batches to ensure consistency, and they are now proactively adjusting their recipe out of caution and transparency. Jumping to conclusions based on rumors from Reddit, Yelp, or Google isn’t fair to a business that has shown full transparency and a willingness to cooperate with authorities. I was there less than a few weeks ago. We actually enjoyed the drinks, but they were unusually strong. After we left, the person I was with felt very drunk after only two drinks, which is highly unusual for them. Yes its the truth. Found out months ago that the building owners wanted to raise it to a crazy price (it was already crazy). It's not new management of the brand. They have multiple spaces in the neighborhood and its quite central for them. They wouldnt just decide to leave that iconic space and break up their eco system. and yes the row will be coming. Tribeca has died with the influx of ultra suburban families. Unfortunately tribeca is does not have a diverse selection anymore. alot of the shops that make the neighborhood unique and special are suffering because the neighborhood does not support local businesses anymore. They dont have taste and only shop big brands they've been influenced and Amazon. That's why we have lost all of our grocery stores and small markets and bodegas suffer.
