I so agree - some of my fondest memories are the team aspects of theatrical creating I did as a child. The usefulness in expressing oneself and discovering new methods of self realization are as important as math and geography. — TG on Local playwright is teaching her craft to kids
A better question might be why is the cobblestone roadwork on Greenwich (and Harrison, etc.) that was redone fairly recently not holding up, and in worse shape than streets that have not been repaved since the 1930's (for example stretches of Vestry)? — Robert Ripps on Nosy Neighbor: Just how many lanes are on Greenwich?
Right you are, TriBeCa Lover. Plus this comment from Jane Freeman via email: The design looks like the Panopticon of Jeremy Bentham. But I'm sure it carries more benign symbolism. And this from my mother-in-law, a professor of medieval history: If those are indeed artichokes, they are an icon for wisdom. — Tribeca Citizen on Where in Tribeca?
Great news for the family who owns Slate! So excited to hear about these family run businesses sticking around! Like Raoul’s In SoHo - opened almost 45 years ago and still kicking! — ECR on Seen & Heard: Rolling out green on Pier 40
This is 10 Murray Street. A type of Art Deco ? Tribeca Lover — TriBeCa Lover on Where in Tribeca?

Love what my daughter is doing with this age group. Kids today don't have as much opportunity to create their own stories and actually act them out in front of a live audience due to all the electronics they are now exposed to that thinks for them. I know they are having a meaningful experience they will never forget that will carry over into their adult lives in very positive ways. ox — Laura's Mom on Local playwright is teaching her craft to kids
In fairness to TC, the Rector Street bridge is not in Tribeca and the BPCA has nothing to do with Tribeca. — PeterD on Nosy Neighbor: What will replace the footings of the Rector Street Bridge?
The school will take the location of the Morton Williams supermarket FYI — James on In the News: 33 Park Row finishing up

The "mermaid" made its first appearance during Halloween at Washington Market Park. It has managed to swim up to Chambers St. — J S Miller on Seen & Heard: Italian tailor for kitchens
Nice feature on Lisa. Appreciate her shout out to the Zotnikovs at 28 Warren. That building has had many artists (including myself) working there for years.Their store is the last remaining "bargain" store on a street that was once filled with them: a bit of old Tribeca. — J S Miller on Portrait of the Artist: Lisa Stefanelli
The new operator of TribecaCitizen clearly doe snot walk 10-miles a day like the former owner who was a dog walker. She is phoning it in. — Steven Greer on Nosy Neighbor: What will replace the footings of the Rector Street Bridge?
Why use the now discredited word "cancelled" for those who have died? In today's parlance to be "cancelled" is to be erased from visibility because of #MeToo. — George Bacon on Seen & Heard: In Memoriam for the “cancelled”
I could not disagree more. I thought the piece was exceptional and for me reflected the loss of time that passes when those in power abuse and don't get caught. Bravo, bravo - I am a fan. — TG on Seen & Heard: In Memoriam for the “cancelled”
Very cool and creepy. Especially at night. — TG on Seen & Heard: Italian tailor for kitchens

Nice Agnes Martin quote. Nice read. Triplets must keep things lively. — TG on Portrait of the Artist: Lisa Stefanelli
Agree completely. For the NIMBYs who oppose this I ask: what's even the point of living in New York City? — Ben on Gearing up to fight an interactive theater in Fidi
"The deconstruction should be done by May, then the city will also restore the space created when the landings are no longer there, with an ETA of October." Nope. The bridge is gone. The deconstruction was completed last week. The footings are gone. The cleanup of the debris is nearly done and the work to expand the basketball courts and the garden has already begun. Seems like the project should be completely finished in a matter of weeks. October? Well, then again this is a government job, so it will probably be completed many years from now and many millions over budget, just like the replacement West Thames bridge. — PeterD on Nosy Neighbor: What will replace the footings of the Rector Street Bridge?
ECCO, great memory, the only place Ive had a briefcase stolen. — Alan on Ecco! at the end of its era in Tribeca?
The space has a legal occupancy of 3,500 people. The folks from Sleep No More or any other group can come here and legally have 3,500 people coming and going at all hours with or without a liquor license. Sleep No More was and is the absolute best tenant for this space for our neighborhood. They will limit the occupancy to 500, have shows of at most twice nightly, they will serve alcohol but this is not a heavy drinking venue and not to mention it is a very cool use - we should be happy that they want to come here. The No vote by the community board is unfortunate however I bet the SLA will approve them and probably will allow for a more permissive license that was proposed at the CB1 meeting. Another disgrace of local NYIBY-ism run amok. — Wall St Bull on Gearing up to fight an interactive theater in Fidi
