  • "Roadies!" Lmao. Since it's a family urban country club in TriBeca, more like "Strollies" (strollers + roadies)... Yes, I own the TM on "Strollies"...you can use it for free 5 times if you are just reading it here for the first time on TC ; ) — MattieNYC on More details on the plans for Best Market space

  • Is Vornado in the supermarket business? I'd love for a Starbucks to rent out a space in the commercial space of my building, but that's Starbucks decision not mine or my buildings or any tenant association. If you want a supermarket in a particular space then put together a business plan and financing and go before the city and unfortunately, a tenant ASSociation or STFUP! — Nancy on UPDATE: A new kind of “Cocoon” coming to Best Market space

  • I feel sorry that the Chongs had to deal with the B.S. from the tenant's association, who clearly believe they have more power than they actually do and believe their manufactured passion makes them right. It doesn't. What happened to supporting your local stores (Morgan's Market, Amish Market, Hudson Market, Max Delivery, etc.)? — Phillip T. on More details on the plans for Best Market space

  • I’m so sad to find this out - your baked goods are extraordinary. I dreamed of coming back and was so upset to see your were gone. But I have psoriatic arthritis and I get it entirely. I hope you can achieve remission and bake to your heart’s content. You are exceedingly talented. — Erica on Arcade Bakery will be closing — for good — in August

  • Are the residents of International Plaza owners or renters? Does any prospective commercial space tenant have to appear before the tenants association first? It sounds like the TA would be hostile to any idea that is not a supermarket. — TriBecky on More details on the plans for Best Market space

  • I'm a tutor in an after school program called Two by Two Tutoring and we help children from graded 2-12 with reading, reading comprehension, math and many other subjects that teachers don't have time to fully work on with their students. • I live nearby but never went, even though I heard/saw all the accolades. Why not? I think I was put off by the constant throng of tourists around the building. Not to mention the constant, unsettling presence of hawkers of Liberty Island and Ellis Island tours. So many other great spots in the neighborhood, and the number of them is growing. — Manhattanmommie on BlackTail at Pier A closing on Saturday

  • 2 more years to finish this tiny little church? Are you kidding me? How? The structure is already built. They literally need to finish the inside and install the marble facade. This is pathetic. — Anthony on In the News: Construction back on at St. Nicholas Church

  • Ridiculous, but not surprising. Anytime I walk by the "construction" on Warren, it's always 10 guys standing around talking and 2 guys actually doing real work. — lowphat on Nosy Neighbor: What’s the latest on Bogardus Garden?

  • When I moved into the neighborhood fifty years ago of course there was nothing like a supermarket anywhere around. Now, after decades of metastasizing gentrification choked by battalions strollers -- guess what? No supermarket! Shame on Vornado and any others responsible for this ridiculous situation. — George Bacon on UPDATE: A new kind of “Cocoon” coming to Best Market space

  • This place had a nice little run. Its beautifully designed & decor'd, delicious drinks, everyone has a good time there. However, at the end of the day, it still was an gimmick place. Upscale, yes, but still gimmicky. I would imagine its tough to get a lot of business all the way down on Pier A, especially in the colder months (aka 2/3 of the year). The food was good too, but how often does anyone "crave" upscale Cuban-inspired tapas? There are a lot of these $16-20 "fancy" cocktail places popping up left and right...but not enough people to give business to them all on a frequent basis. — Rick K on BlackTail at Pier A closing on Saturday

  • Vornado / Roth are all full of Greed. - Just slum business people who don't care about community and its neighbors. Just as the likes of Weinstein & Epstien. - pure SLIME. — john on UPDATE: A new kind of “Cocoon” coming to Best Market space

  • Thank you again, Tribeca Citizen, for the original posting and allowing a bit of discussion here. Thanks to those who are interested and came to support us last night. Apologies to others - because this is obviously not the right place for us to communicate, especially about the 316 Greenwich Space. I will work on creating some kind of discussion arena other than Tribeca Citizen, which has been more than cordial. Good news for those of you who have used this as a vehicle to be condescending to your neighbors. Congratulations, you win! How cool are you?! A great way to start off a brand new year.
