  • Thank you, Erik for providing a service that really made feel Tribeca like a community. I always looked forward to reading TC. I lived in Tribeca for 15 years and recently moved to the east end of Long Island. TC was the one thing that still connected me to the neighborhood I loved and - still miss. I do hope it continues, and perhaps you can guest editor ever now and then. Much success to you! — Denise Tooman on The End Is Near

  • I cant think of one burger-centric restaurant that has opened and succeeded in the last 2 years. In fact, I think many more have closed shop than opened their doors. Good luck selling an South African meets Burger concept down here. Unless this is just a case of having too much money OR its not really going to be a burger joint when they open their doors..... — RK on A New Restaurant on Warren Street

  • Erik, thank you so much for all the vital info we seek as a community. The neighborhood became friendlier and more accessible thanks to your journaling. You even stood up for me when my building had very bad tenants by alerting the community about the inappropriate events in my neighbors apt. They were eventually evicted and life became more tolerable. I wish there was something I could do to keep your blog going. Wishing you all the best, - Robbie — Robbie on The End Is Near

  • I still can't believe the BS that got thrown your way for the headline in #17, as if the world were not replete with authentic horrors. — David G Imber on What Tribecans Cared About in 2018

  • I would fully support your family if they wanted to take the law into their own hands if this scumbag gets off Renee. We all know how utterly pathetic the criminal justice system is in NYC, especially when it comes to vehicular crime. The NYPD, the DA's, the judges, even down to the DMV judges who refuse to confiscate the licenses of these idiots - completely incompetent. All they care about is doing the minimum amount of work for their paychecks and then retiring to Florida. • The Walker will not have room rates below $200. I have no firsthand knowledge of the place, people involved, or anything else about the hotel or its accommodations. But it won't. If I'm wrong about this... I'm not wrong about this. — David G Imber on 42 Reasons to Be Excited About the Future

  • The woman who perished in this horrific and abominable car crash is my husband's cousin, Amy. I cannot even begin to state how devastated we are and how angry we are that this evil man ran off as if trying to get away with what he did. He was supposed to be arraigned today, but if he gets away with this we (as a family) will haunt him and curse him for the rest of his life. There is no excuse for speeding, weaving, or driving recklessly and leaving the scene is CRIMINAL. Don't care if your sister is famous or what money and connections you have- YOU KILLED SOMEONE! If you don't answer for it here on earth then I promise you will after your last breath. You will undoubtedly burn in hell. — Renee on In the News: Fatal Four-Car Crash

  • Eater did an article on a nasty lawsuit between the founder and operator of Breads Bakery over a year ago. I've been working on the assumption that a WTC location for Breads was pretty much a non-starter from almost the get go. https://ny.eater.com/2017/10/26/16553556/breads-bakery-partnership-fight FiDi really could use a decent bakery though so it's a bit of a bummer. — K.
