I know nothing about this building, but to me it looks like the ugly, retrograde, compromised result of appealing to the preservationists who insist on dictating proscriptions against building "outside the neighborhood character". I hope I'm wrong and that this banal rendering is just a placeholder for something spectacular. I'm all for transformation of that intersection. Also curious what's happening (if anything) with the parking lot at Lispenard. Seems like a spot ripe for development; I'm surprised no builder has snatched it up. Anyone know what was there in the past? Greetings from BPCA. The plants on South Cove’s island are actually not olives but similar-looking shrubs in the daisy family (Baccharis halimifolia), commonly referred to as Sea Myrtle or Groundsel. The island poses a challenging environment for plants so we are replacing our native, salt tolerant, and bee-loved Sea Myrtles with younger plants that will grow quickly and bloom next year — bringing with them their usual cloud of butterflies and bees! I've know Roger since he was conceived - spent time with him while he was growing up - tasted his out of this world bread when he just learned to bake - everything he did he did balls to the wall - The Arcade meant so much to so many - those who got to know Roger had nothing but great things to say about -him I took my wife to the Arcade (we live in Ohio) she had met Roger but never tasted his baking - she became an instant fan Hopefully someone will put a plaque thanking Roger for bringing a smile to so many faces at the Arcade's entrance By the way Roger will flourish going forward and hopefully when I get to NY and see him - there will be a hot sourdough and of course a chocolate Badka waiting for myself and Chris (my wife) — david stolz on Arcade Bakery will be closing — for good — in August

Alas, 111 Wall IS a Dump. It was when I worked at Citibank over 20 years ago and to my knowledge, no significant upgrades have been made since. A full gut renovation is in order her and the best use of the space could be residential.
