Are the folks from The Patriot still looking for a site? — SW on The Fight Over a New Greek Restaurant
I meant to reply here -- we have had a restaurant in our building for many years and we do not have those problems. And ditto to what Erik said. — SW on The Fight Over a New Greek Restaurant

I agree with everything you said. My point wasn't that there aren't rats everywhere in NYC. I was merely commenting to the post that mentioned vermin are brought to the buildings with restaurants... stating that this area is known for it's rat population. — lowphat on The Fight Over a New Greek Restaurant

Here ya go, re: 26 Federal Plaza entrance...... ---------------------------------------------- "This email is to inform you of an immediate structural situation affecting the security pavilion and garage below. Through an engineering study performed recently we received notification that structural members of the garage and security pavilion are compromised and require extensive repairs. These repairs could take 2-3 years to complete (including design and construction) and it has been recommended that we vacate the garage and relocate the security pavilion to mitigate any safety risk." — M Keegan on Seen & Heard: Updates on Three New Hotel Restaurants

While I'd love to see the Greek open an outpost there, a part of me hopes he gets denied and 3 months later an establishment along the lines of "Bounce" or an outpost of an Upper East Side Boozy Brunch Club opens instead, complete with DJ, Velvet Ropes, Crowd, etc. The Greek could be one of the more respectful innocuous restaurants in Tribeca as far as noise and community impact goes. As far as restaurants go tenants should welcome such an establishment. You never know what you're going to get when you risk it and opt for Door #2. — Waylon Smithers on The Fight Over a New Greek Restaurant
Sorry lowphat rats are pervasive everywhere, including BPC. The real key is a balance of business and residential quality of life...hours and garbage and noise are all the tipping points between neighbors and nuisance. Bag the garbage, be reasonable ...asking for 4am in a residential buiding is myopic. — TK on The Fight Over a New Greek Restaurant

I do not understand the meaning of your punctuation variations, but I'm sure there is a hidden insult in there which will make me think even less of myself. Therefore I will exile myself to the desolate wastelands of TriBeCa, where Pokemon go to die of boredom. — Marcus on Welcome to TweeBeCa

Thanks for the mention of Dr. Nakamatsu's 88th Birthday event at Mmuseumm. I'm involved in this, and it's been a trip. Most everyone in Japan knows the celebrated/notorious inventor, but I'm still shocked to find that he has a devoted following here. Having been connected to Japan all my life, I grew up being aware of this phenomenal man (it's hard to pin down a title: scientist, philosopher, entertainer - my strong recommendation is that you not try). He's an outlying figure who's worth rushing to the edges to observe. For those who want to learn more, perhaps no single article sums him up, but this may help: http://tinyurl.com/zcdr67o — David G. The menu above strongly resembles that of the Ainsworth not only in content but also in graphic design, typeface, etc. They just took the name off as if they wanted to conceal it. http://theainsworth.com/file/11099/Ainsworth%2026th-foodmenu-fall2016.pdf The point about "not closing White Street" IMO is a distinction without a difference. — James on White Street Restaurant Is Likely Headed for a Big Change
